Poured the 2010 batch from tap at Belmont Station.
Time does wonders for this beer. Pours a nice brown/dark amber clear hue though the head is almost non-existent and quickly vanishes to a thin lace.
The aromas center on bourbon cask, vanilla, cinnamon, and dark fruit. Rather light and a little muddled though...
Flavors are subtle with a lot of influence from the oak aging, very faint dark fruit (black cherry?), some toast and hints of caramel.
Texture is velvety and liquor like. Really nicely balanced. Subtle bitterness, some alcohol noticeable but not too over the top.
Overall a very good beer, but not one that I will be buying regularly or even ordering on tap if there are other interesting selections. I do like the effort here though.
Serving type: on-tap
