Pours a dark amber color w/ a thin sliver of an off white head. Moderate carbonation and lacing on my snifter glass. Beer appears clear, and somewhat easy to see through in spite of the color. The nose is mainly bourbon, oak, vanilla. A little on the simplistic, non-complex side, and a little thin. Taste is a little better, but not great. A little boozy, w/ vanilla and oak coming through as well. Mouthfeel is thin and syrupy. Overall, this beer is a bit of a mess. I probably won't pick this up again.

Muddy brown garnet color. Better head retention than most of the beers of this age. Spicy aroma, a bit sour too. Crisp, smooth feel. Since most of the primary flavors are probably faded, the bourbon shines through, gently. ABV well hidden. Quite drinkable.

The beer is from 2010.Poured into a pint glass at 47 degrees. A vigourous pour produced a light tan head that is foamy and billowy. The head has poor retention and just melt to a little foam island on the beer. The color of the beer is rich dark redwood color. The beer is opaque with some carbonation bubble.

N: A rich malty beer with spices, vanilla, fruit cake, yeast, biscuits, brown sugar, and caramel.

T: A mellow malt profiles, spices, vanilla, wood, coffee, biscuits, yeast, molasses, and caramel.

M: A thin and watery beer with some carbonation.

This is just okay, the beer is too thin for a winter water, I would expect a little bit of chewy and richer malt profile like the nose had. Disappointing.
