A: Straw blonde pour produces a 2+ finger eggshell white head that had a milky cream consistency and texture. Strong glass consuming effervesce rises within a light, hazy pumpkin orange colored body. Head retention is well lasting with a nice amount of lace coverage on the vessel.
S: Aroma of sweet juicy grapefruit, freshly sliced, and strong citrus notes were wet and lively, that soon settled to a softly dry barley grain and dry lemon peel finish. You really have to get a good wiff the second this hits the vessel because the aroma does't stay dominant for long, but for a few brief moments.
T: Flavor of tart grapefruit, fresh barley grains, dry, with a nice bite of lemon and dry citrus that follows. Touch of grain sweetness sneaks in briefly for balance with an overall good deal of soft, dry hop bitterness per style and some straw on the fade.
M: Wheaty mouthful, nearing mid-body depth with a good resistence when swirled on the tongue. Frothy texture, good carbonation rate, bittering and dry on the swallow.
O: Overall while i wished the citra hops lasted a bit longer on the nose, this did follow within the guidelines per style of an american blonde. Nice soft dry grain base, bittering more typical per style, but lightly dry, a body that was a bit fuller with a pretty decent rate of drinkability. While not a big fan of Widmers earlier works they do seem to be progressing. Final thoughts, while those might be expecting a big burst of tropical citra hops, this is more focused on traditional style, softly dry bittering, and not meant to be an ipa. Overall pretty decent per style.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a...I'm not going to say it, I'm not going to say it, I'm not going to say it...a blonde color. DANGIT! The head isn't even a finger high, and has a white shade. Retention isn't good. Tiny specks of lacing are left on the glass.
S: That textbook Citra stank is there in full force. I'm picking up little to no malt backbone. As a way to show off Citra and nothing more, it does a respectable job - still, I wish there was a bit less stank and a bit more tropical fruit notes. Damnit, I wish this was fresh, then again I only have myself to blame for leaving it in the fridge for a damn month.
T: The general flavor is pretty light. A touch of melon to start, and some crackery malt that intertwines with the hop notes on its finish. It's dead simple, but it gets the job done.
M: Light, dry, light, dry, light, dry, light, and oh yeah, dry, too. The carbonation is intense, almost overly so. Still, it's stupidly easy to drink, and also refreshing.
O: There's room for improvement - the Citra hops could be shown off better, and it could also use less of a carbonic bite - but it's nice enough in its current state. Give me a six pack and 100 degree weather, and I'd probably think of this in a much better light. It certainly beats BMC, that's for damn sure (wait...)
