12oz brown bottle with a freshness date.

LOOK: Impressive lacing, clear amber color.

SMELL: Grapefruit rind, spearmint, hemp seeds, biscuity, cracker maltines, passion fruit, guava, alcohol.

TASTE: Hop bitterness, smooth, creamy medium body, leafy, vague berry fruitiness, dry malt backbone, light toasted biscuit, citric zest and rind, bitter semi-dry finish.

A tribute beer and a tasty one at that, extremely drinkable for 7% and more than enough hops to appease my need. Solid.

Poured into a standard pint a clear copper with a thinner lacy white head that left broken rings of lace behind as it settled into a thin layer.a ix of leafy hops and juicy fruity malt in the nose, the hops are a little subdued for the style but the malt aromas are nice.More of a pale ale on the palate than ipa with its big sweetish malt profile, there is a shot of citric hops but it doesn't really hit home.I'ts a decent beer but it lacks in the ipa department in my opinion.

The beer pours a clear orange color with a white head. The aroma is very fruity, with some grapes, cherries and pine notes mixed in with some toffee. The flavor is similar. I get orange and cherry with biscuit malt and a low amount of bitterness. I also get a little bit of pine, but the fruit notes from the hops stand out more. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not bad.

A little darker than average pour, slight light brown intrusion, dark copper. Aroma was hoppy, falconer's hops seem like a little more bitter cascades.

A heavy malt mouthfeel, this is a big bodied 'single' ipa. The hopping is nice, but between the six pack I had, I noticed the beer didn't have much sturdiness, after a few weeks it was a very different beer. Hope you like caramel, toffee, tea and grapefruit. Could have just as easily believed this was a hoppy brown ale.

Good enough, the thing I like about these Widmer rotating ipas is that they're all unique, but they're not just different for the sake of being different, you get some enjoyable actual different takes on the ipa style.

A medium to big off white head rest above a clear above a clear bright copper colored beer that has a ring of haze about 3/4 inch below the head.

A big citrus, piney, floral hops aroma, makes me happy I poured this from above the glass a bit to give it a bigger head and release more of the hops characteristics in the aroma.

Citrus and floral hops with some pine coming through, not as bold as the aroma, and just enough to give this a dryish lightly bitter hops taste.

A dryish aftertaste with some bitterness and hops taste lasting on with this medium bodied IPA.

As this beer sits the aroma pretty much dies off, I suggest pouring it big to release the big hops aromas hiding within. The first half of the glass seemed to taste better because of the big release of aroma, just saying.

Into the standard pint glass results in a slightly hazy body with a nice fluffy half inch head that clings to the glass, nice. The aroma is fruit forward, I get pineapple, Kiwi, ripe peach and floral hops. Taste is on the sweet side of the IPA spectrum, malt, honey, biscuit. Carbonation is just right with a nice cascade of bubbles throughout the glass.
Wow, I didn't know Widmer had this in them! And it's a bargain to boot! Going to go down to the market and snag some more of this pronto! Well done.

Appearance - Pours a clear, brilliant orange amber with an off-white, near 2 finger head. Decent retention. The resulting lace is thin, but consistent and somewhat sticky.

Smell - Notes of citrus and stonefruit; somewhere between peach and apricot. A bready malt aroma can be found sitting beneath.

Taste - Starts fruity and citric, mixing it up nicely with a lightly toasted, bready malt backbone. Bitterness creeps in about midtaste, then finishes with strong bitter orange pith that rings true well into the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with some lively carbonation. Bites quick, then smooths out.

Overall - When I first had the O'Ryely and Spiced IPA, I thought Widmer had no clue in what they were doing with these Rotator IPA's - the Shaddock and Falconer's IPA has proven otherwise. This is a damn solid IPA. Reminds me of Stone's IPA.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into my Dogfish Head shaped pint glass. Bottled October 24th, 2012.

Nearly clear safety orange with tangerine highlights and a fat finger of off-white foam up top. Thick even soapy lacing, good retention.

Faintly floral aroma suggesting orange blossom and a hint of lavender. Gentle biscuity backbone from the malt as well...

Moderately bitter throughout and full of hop flavor - bright citrus and mango flavors pulsate at the high points along a wave of earthy/spicy/pine-infused/faintly catty NW-hop tastes. Some grapefruit, pineapple, and passion-fruit peak out from time to time as well - the former growing stronger in the finish. Quite a blend! The straight forward clean malt provides a pleasing though delicate contrast, mainly serving as a well crafted canvas for the hops to paint themselves across. Finishes fairly dry, though the fruit continues to evolve for quite some time. Malt (two-row and a touch of crystal?) actually becomes slightly more prominent as the ale warms, further emphasizing the NW origin.

Creamy, medium-light bodied with a bite.

A nice show-case for the Falconer's Flight pellet hop blend (Citra, Simcoe, and tons of NW varieties from what I hear)...though mainly this makes me want to pick up some super-fresh to toss into a home-brew.

On tap at the Village Draft House

This beer pours a nice light amber color, but arrived at the table with no head. The is predominantly grapefruit with faint notes of light malt. The taste is similar; grapefruit-like citrusy hops and very pleasing floral hops up front with faint malt notes and a honey-like sweetness noticeable in the finish. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and moderately carbonated.

This is a very sessionable IPA. The hops used lend floral and grapefruit notes, but little if any bitterness. This would make a great training wheels beer for those looking to get into the style.

Pours a clean amber, with a frothy tan head. Superlative lace.

Nose is grapefruit, pine, and lemon hops. Very nice.

Taste? Pleasantly hopped, with more of the citrus/grapefruit tones. I get a hint of bitterness at the finish. Not a hop bomb, but still pretty well enjoyable.

The newest entry in Widmer's Rotator IPA, this one is brewed with the new Falconer's Flight variety of hop. Poured from the 12oz bottle into a tulip glass. Body is a deep golden-amber color topped by a couple of fingers of creamy off-white head that quickly settles down to a thin ring, leaving a minimal amount of lacing on the glass.
Aroma of grapefruit and a touch of honey sweetness, along with some grassy notes. Palate is big on grapefruit and grassy hops up front, balanced slightly by a mild honey sweetness from the pale malt. A slightly syrupy character in the body carries the assertive hop profile very well and lends a bit of stickiness. Finish is a bit harsh, quite bitter and sharp. That's how I like an IPA, though, so in my mind this is fantastic.
A big, aggressively-hopped West Coast IPA that doesn't pull punches. If this is the hallmark of the new Falconer's Flight hop, then I want more beer made with it immediately. Good stuff.

Poured a finger of head on a cloudy, medium straw colored body.
The aroma has a little floral element with a stronger lemon and grapefruit. Nice.
The taste is a nice moderate bitterness, mostly lemon and pine. The malt backbone holds it together.
The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation and medium body.
Here's a solid IPA you can't go wrong with.
