A 500ml bottle with a BB of Aug 2013, so it's a bit out of date. Picked up from Sainsbury's as part of their 2012 Beer Hunt and stored in my garage. Described on the label as a ruby ale, and named after a character from a Dylan Thomas play.
Poured into a tulip pint glass. A deep ruby-red colour with light carbonation. Forms a decent head of creamy off-white foam that lasts for a minute or two before disappearing. Aroma of fruity malt, caramel, faint roasted grain, ale yeast and stewed leaves. Slightly sweet, with a twinge of cardboard in the background.
Tastes of fruity malt with a harsh, dry finish. Notes of fruitiness, caramel, mild roasted grain, ale yeast, faint grass and stewed leaves. A hint of acrid cardboard in the background, followed by a restrained bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with soft carbonation and decent body. Slightly astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of harsh cardboard, stewed leaves and mild fruitiness.
Meh - a lacklustre brew, though its age probably doesn't help. Looks alright, in fact the colour is lovely, but the aroma and flavour are dull and uninspired. Body is OK. Can't say this is a teriffic tipple - give it a miss.

500ml Bottle: BBD 31 Aug 2013. Poured into two half-pint glass tankards at home on 7 June 2013.
Bright and clear body: red body leaning towards brown, on top a thin off-white head that soon became a wisp and collar.
Red berries in the nose and taste: more malts than hops but a good blend of flavours with a body depth that suited the brew. Semi-sweet front with a mildly bitter finish, refreshing and interesting.
A decent beer all round. Pity the head refused to hang around.
