Easy to find on the main drag through downtown Greenville, right across from the Hyatt on Main St.

8-10 outdoor tables on the sidewalk. Brew kettles are right up front. Long bar with a combination of tables and booth seating options also available. Private room in the back.

Usually 4-5 beers on tap. The stand-bys are a blonde, ESB, American Pale Ale, and a stout. The stout goes by the same name as the Foothills version in NC, but the Foothills version seems to taste better to me. All of the beers are decent, but none are outstanding.

Food is really, really good though. Nice sandwiches, pizzas, and some fairly wild (literally) entrees. Try the wild game platter. The bacon pizza with whole garlic cloves is very good, too.

Service is attentive, but for some reason always seems to be a little slow. The servers are all very nice, though, and most are knowledgeable about their product.

One of my favorites when I visit town.

Best place to grab a beer in Greer. The staff are always helpful and the beer selection is second to none. You won't be disappointed. I need to add a other sentence to get to the requisite number of characters so ignore this part of the review.

After frequenting Blue Ridge since it opened, primarily due to the fact that its the only brewery downtown, I have seen the quality of everything go steadily downhill. The beers have never been phenomenal, but generally drinkable even though they sometimes don't represent their style very well. The food has dove to the bottom of the barrel and hasn't seen any improvement in well over 5 years. On top of being overpriced, the service is always slow. I cringe when friends say they want to go here but always reluctantly agree.

Stopped in for a quick bite on a Saturday afternoon. They were out of the IPA so I went with ESB. It was good, not great but very drinkable. Had a pulled pork sandwich and it was quite good. I stopped back later and tried the stout. Nice coffee taste and much more flavorful than the ESB. Overall a nice place to stop fora bite and a brew. Service was very good

Visited in August 2012, reviewed from notes.

Situated in the heart of Greenville, I stopped for a couple of drinks at Blue Ridge while waiting for the rest of my party to go out to dinner. The bar wasn't lit up very much, yet it still felt like a "hick" bar as opposed to an urban brewpub one might expect in Atlanta or Charlotte. It was a Saturday afternoon, so the place was fairly dead. The hostess was brain dead, but the bartender was nice enough. I started out with the Big Willie barleywine, and it was ho-hum. In fact, everything about my visit could be described as ho-hum, as the best part of my time there was watching Olympic power walking.

A very average and forgettable brewpub experience - I did not stay for dinner as the menu looked mediocre. Visit only if you like to tick brewpubs too

this is a good restaurant with average beer. the restraunt's atmosphere is its best selling point. it's right in downtown greenville, and when you walk inside you feel like youre in a really cool brewery restraunt combo. we came for dinner and the waitress was very good, and took care of us and suggested good stuff according to our taste. the selection slightly lacks because their beer isnt the most amazing ive ever had, but it is drinkable. the food is good, and usually marinated in their beer which is cool. this is a good place to go for food, and if you want to try the beer go right ahead. good place.

I went to the Blue Ridge Brewing company twice during a weekend visit to Greenville, South Carolina in August 2010-once just for beers for a Bachelorette party and once for beers, lunch, and to get growlers to go to bring to a party.

I really enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere of this establishment full with southern hospitality. There was indoor and outdoor seating available and there were plenty of high top tables and booths so a lot of people could be accommodated easily. The staff were very friendly during both of my visits and helped me pick the best beers to bring in growlers to go.

The beer selection was good although not exceptional. They had seven beers on tap during my visit, the imperial stout was incredible. The food was surprisingly good for pub food and it had a southern flare.

If visiting Greenville, SC, the Blue Ridge Brewing Company is a must-see.

Cozy enough inside, although kinda dark with low lighting and plentiful dark wood. The reflection off the copper kettles and pleasant staff helps brighten things up, though. The big mirror behind the bar somehow makes it seem more barlike and less publike (and in fact they do have a full bar and do a brisk business with the non-beer drinking crowd). The Table service is friendly and efficient, but the real beer knowledge seems to lie behind the bar. There are a few sidewalk tables as well.

The beer selection is somewhat hit and miss, both with the regular and seasonal offerings. Beers range from limp and uninspired (pales and IPAs) to shockingly excellent (the regular ESB and seasonal barleywine). They usually have the four regulars- blonde, pale, ESB, stout- plus one seasonal on tap. Pass on the blonde and pale, give the stout a try, don't miss the ESB.

The food is damned good, some of the best you'll find in a brewpub setting. Wild game, housemade condiments, great sandwiches, tasty pizzas, awesome pimento cheese made with smoked cheddar and minimal mayo.

Right in downtown Greenville, a couple blocks from Barley's Taproom

Walked in here with my brother, had their IPA (awesome) and their stout (also awesome). The atmosphere is a tavern-style type, with dimmer lighting and lots of wood tables. Outside also has a couple tables set up. Their food was awesome! Had a pulled-pork sandwich with slaw on top that really hit the spot. The menu seemed pretty delicious, a lot of BBQ and southern selections.

Not the greatest variety as far as beer selection goes, but the two that I sampled were really good.

Went here last night to grab some food and brew. This had been the first time I had visited this location in two years. The location and appearance of the brewery is awesome! As soon as you walk in you will see what I mean... Service kind of sucked this night with the server constantly disappearing for extended periods of time. However, when stopping other servers they were very helpful and knowledgable about their beer. So I guess it is hit or miss (at least I hope so). The food was excellent! Definitely try their 'Wild Game Sampler' if you get the chance. The beer was okay, but not great.

The selection at time of my visit was not that great but that does not mean the place was not awesome. I went a little late and it was not very crowded. Like I said the selection was not that great but the ones they had were very good. The ESB was very good as well as their blonde. When we came their pale ale was still in the tanks and we were told they would be avalible in around two days. We were only in town for the night so the bartender was kind enough to give us a sample pint out of the tanks. It was very foamy but still very good. The service at this brewpub was better than anyplace I have been. The bartenders were very cool and just hung around with us talking about beer and basically convinced us to indulge in their selection. It made for a very fun night and a very fun experience. I would definitely recommend this place.

Since we have become semi-regulars to Asheville, NC we have made the 1+ hour trip to Greenville a few times now. Each time we have visited BRB to grab a bite and check out what brews they are offering.

A nice looking place from the outside located along the hip and clean Main Street in downtown Greenville.

Along the right wall are a series of booths, along the left is the charming looking bar and down the center run a series of tables. The entire interior is done in a very soothing dark wood.

A fun and interesting beer bottle mural of the lower 48 hangs on the wall towards the rear on the same side as the bar.

Service has been decent on each of our visits with no real complaint. Save the last time it took what seemed like forever to get our check.

Food has always been solid and quite filling for the prices. I like the southern sampler dishes.

Usually 6-8 beers on tap...to include a few BRB specials. Some of the beers are the same as Foothills in W-S, NC as the two places are sister brewpubs.

A nice place with solid beer and food in the attractive downtown area, what's not to like?

Nice old main street building. Very homey and comfortable. Lots of dark wood. It was the middle of the day though and dark. Some more lights would not have hurt. We stopped by for a quick couple of pints before my brother's dress rehearsal.

It was a Friday afternoon and absolutely dead but I liked the feel of the place. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. They had about a half dozen of their own offerings on tap. I will need to spend some more time here on my next trip to Greenville. Did not try the food but I have heard it is pretty good pub grub.

My maiden trip to downtown Greenville ended with dinner at the Blue Ridge Brewing Co. We had a nice seat outside and great late summer weather.

The inside how a decent beerhouse feel. I did not spend much time in side, except to wait to be seated. The hostess was non-responsive to seating anyone despite the huge supply of tables and seemingly unoccupied servers.

The selection was average. I knew nothing about Blue Ridge Beers, so the server walked me through them. They seemed to have a solid selection of beers on tap. I went with a Ball & Chain.

The food was very good and reasonably priced.

It is in a nice part of downtown Greenville, but the nightlife really has seemed to be killed off by the smoking ordinance. Anyway, the brewing company itself had a nice rustic woody interior. Nice enough place to have a brew, but the beers are purely average and the service seems to be real hit or miss. Customer service was not a priority, but I find that to be the case more often than not down here in the south. I'm still trying to figure out the Southern hospitality thing. Must be at their homes, because it certainly is not at their places of work.

The other reviews pretty well describe the place. Decent atmosphere, I think that I went on a Thursday night and the place was not really that full, but it is a pretty big space. I only tried one beer, the Black Honey, and it was very, very good, and the food was ok, if I go back it will probably be only for the beer. Service was ok, out waiter really could not speak to the beers on tap and give a good description of the beers. It seems like that night they only had about 5 beers on tap, so selection was a little limited. Overall, again, I would go back to try more of the beers, but skip the food.

The atmosphere is great all wood comfortable with the vats in the windows and next to the long bar. They usually have 5 beers on tab a few constants and then some seasonals. The staff is great and they know their beer. They also offer beer to go in growlers and kegs. If you are familiar with Foothills in Winston-Salem, NC this is the sister brewery so you'll find some of the same brews.

This place had an interesting front overlooking Main Street with the brewhouse and the first of four aligned FVs visible in the window. The door opened onto a short maitre d’ station that included a cabinet with logo items for sale. Beyond the m.d.s., running the length of the right wall, was a series of booths which is where we sat. Along the left wall, past the fourth fermenter, was the server’s station, a color chalkboard, and the long, polished wood bar with its back bar a combination of glassware storage and wine rack. On the tables were blueprint diagrams of the layout of the place. All of the way aft was the kitchen and the lavatories. A beer bottle mural of the continental U.S. hung on the wall aft of the bar. A row of tables ran down the centerline with a few booths aft of the bar. I even spoke to Jay the Brewer as part of his brew day.

On my visit, they only had two beers available – Stout and ESB. It was disappointing, but I survived.

Mom Test: Oh, hell, yeah! If I can bring a non-beer drinking friend and she was cool with it, my Mom is definitely in.

Blue Ridge is my hometown brewpub so I'll admit a natural bias. The best thing about Blue Ridge is the food. My wife loves the homemade pickles and I love the homemade ketchup. I could swim in the stuff. The buffalo burgers are exceptional. The location in downtown Greenville can't be beat and it is open on Sunday which is still a rarity in downtown. My only complaint is that the beer selection is minimal and they rarely seem to have any special brews. If they took their beer as seriously as their food, this place would be top notch.

This place has a cool pub like atmosphere. There is a long bar and wooden tables/booths. The cool thing about the tables is that they all have a schematic of the brewery printed on them – great idea! There was a diverse food selection for a bar. The staff was very attentive and went out of their way to find us the food we had ordered (they had stopped selling our particular appetizer, but found a way to get it to us anyway). They were also friendly and knowledgeable about the beer. The beer was good – we came in at happy hour so pints were 2.50! The beer selection was average for a beer pub. They informed us that S.C. had just upped the alcohol content in the state – so I expect a better selection soon. The staff even referred us to a bar selling imported/micro high gravity brews. I’d recommend this place for anyone looking for a brew in S.C. – plus they will be happy to help you navigate the area.

While visiting friends in Spartanburg, I was taken on a tour of Greenville. When I saw this storefront and mentioned my interest in local brewpubs my friend suggested we go there for lunch. It turned out to be a great idea.

We had buffalo and beef burgers; both were very good. There were six beers on tap that day. I had two pints: one each of the Scotch Ale and the ESB. Both were very nice. My acquaintance had the Stout, which I couldn't help but sample as well. It was also very nice.

I spoke with the brewmaster before leaving and expressed my pleasure in sampling his beers. He offered a taste of his Marzen, which was still in the fermenting tank. It was tasty. This is a decent establishment that obviously allows its brewmaster to do his best work. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

To me downtown Greenville is a cozy place in itself and this place is a fine example of the mood this city sets. Wood inside with huge casks as you walk in. They have their beers here so you can expect them extra fresh. I had the ESB and enjoyed it thoroughly. They have certain beers that remain on-tap all year and others that rotate according to season. I definitely look forward to my next trip to Greenville as I'll surely make a stop at Blue Ridge again.

Food is your standard fair, wings, burgers, chicken, and fries. All very good, and served very late(kitchen open till past 1am on weekends) Always have about 6 brews on tap, and as you could well imagine all are very fresh. On the right side of the bar on the wall is a map of the United Sates with beer empty beer bottles placed on it. One more really neat thing was the "Mug Club" mugs were custom hand made clay mugs. Located in the boutique shopping district of Greenville, SC, Blue Ridge seems like a typical yuppie brew pub. They seat about 100 and have a cozy patio in front. Their copper cooker and lauter are displayed in front with a row of 5 stainless 10 barrel fermenters down the side. There were four regular beers and a seasonal; stout, blond, ESB, pale ale, and dunkle weissen. The beers seem true to style. The food is probably very good as most of the customers were eating late lunch meals and not really drinking beer.

Blue Ridge is darn easy to find downtown in Greenville. It is on N. Main with easy to find free parking and a nice feel to the area.

The atmosphere was good, but smoke kept wafting from the bar. The place is pretty small with the brewery being to your left as you enter and then booths and tables on the right wall and the bar area on the left. Some outside seating was available so that might be a way to move away from any smoke. On the tables are plans of the building which was an interesting touch. Along with occasional smoke the place was pretty noisy.

Service was very good and attentive. The selection was ok for an SC Brewpub, but could have been a bit better. The brewer seems to be a bit heavy handed on the hops so for the hophead this might be a good place for a pint. The mug club uses "ugly mugs" which adorn the bar.

The food was good and I would certainly return to see what was on tap.

Visited the Blue Ridge Brewing Company for the second time last night. They have some outside seating along with a bunch of booths down the right wall inside the restaurant. The bar is to the left along with their big 10 bbl fermenting tanks. The atmosphere is all wood: Wooden bar, wooden floors, wooden booths, wooden tables. We were able to get a seat quite easily and the waitress took our order right away. They have a limited beer selection. They should always have their Pale, Stout, ESB and their Blonde in stock. Their remaining 8 beers or so are either seasonals or on rotating release. At the time we went their only other choice was their Rye Pale Ale but they have a chalkboard where they post their daily selections. I started off with their stout. They are decent at pouring their beers. They certainly do not serve their beers in ice cold glasses and the beer itself is at a great temperature for tasting. Unfortunately they do not seem to pour their beers to give you a great head. The stout had maybe a centimeter of head but the beers my friends received had nothing more than a little film. After we had been sipping on our beers for a few minutes, our waitress promptly took our food orders. The menu has a wide selection from grilled items, seafood items, and sandwiches. Their specialty is game meat - quail, buffalo, etc but there is quite a bit of tamer choices. The food I have had both times has been quite enjoyable. The waitress offered us another beer before we finished our first ones so she was quite attentive. I ended up having their Colonel Paris Pale Ale which was also enjoyable. At the end of the meal, we got a growler filled with the stout and I will be reviewing that beer from the growler in the coming days. This is definitely a place to stop by if you are in the greenville area. Happy hour is 7 days a week from 4 to 7. Pints are only $2.50!
