I'm surprised by how much I like this beer. The taste is exceptional: sherry, raisins, blackberries and crystal malt all come through. Very lightly hopped per the Scottish style. Aroma also of sherry, vanilla and fruit.
Mouthfeel is smooth and sweet.
Big foamy tan head tops a slightly murky dark amber beer.
Michael Jackson makes a big deal about this beer on his "Beerhunter" video and now I understand why.

Look: It pours dark brown and fairly clear. It has a tan head. It has moderate head retention.
Smell: It has a malty aroma with toffee and scotch. There are some very low herbal notes.
Taste: There flavor is a bit sweet up front with toffee, dark cherry and prunes. It also has toffee and scotch notes with a very low sherry like quality.
Feel: It has a medium body on the full side with a somewhat sweet aftertaste.
Overall, a good scotch ale with good warming to finish.

Sweet dried fruit mixed with smoke, peat and a little wooden barrel taste. Pours cola crown with immediate abundant foamy head. Smooth despite the high ABV. A sipper, but very pleasant.

#1785 - Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)...
L- Deep ruby chestnut, pours clear/filtered, with a 1Cm notably tan head.
S- Something a touch earthy here, perhaps with a fruit note in parallel.
T- Bright fruit note, is it berries of some kind, it could be blackberry or similar. That note is very clear but luckily not dominating all else. I can sense the solid malty body underneath. ... Is this something like a gruit (beer) where some of the usual hops are substituted with dry herbs instead?
F- It has some richness and even tiny hints of sweet. But the facets of herbs keep be trying to figure this one out.
O- I don't know where the 'Scotch' in the name is from as I get no whisky here. Instead I do get an aspect of gruit-like herbs. Certainly drinkable but not doing enough for me to wish to buy again.
330ml bottle £2.66 BB: 08/12/2022 Bought from BeersOfEurope/King's Lynn as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe website (£3.19):
Dark caramel with a 1.5cm, thick looking head that's foamy & light tan coloured with excellent retention. It has a sweet & malty aroma with brown sugar, prunes & dates then something almost strawberry-like to follow then caramel to finish. It's less malty tasting, caramel, sugars & a syrupy sweetness open things up with some vanilla & darker fruits, mainly raisin & prunes with some cherry in there too but it's just that did too sweet, bordering on sickly at times. It has stronger carbonation than expected & is quite effervescent with a medium body & a lively, dry finish but the taste lets it down slightly.

Very dark copper color with no head.
Nice malty aroma with notes of toasted malts, red fruits, raisins, toffee and chocolate.
Flavor with notes of prunes, raisins, chocolate, toasted malts, caramels, brown sugar, some red fruits, butterscotch and cocoa. Dry aftertaste with a mild bitterness.
Bordering medium body with mild carbonation. Alcohol of 8% is very well disguised.
Faithful to style Scotch Ale with amazing malt complexity and with all the expected notes with good depth.

A belgian Scotch ale. Why not? Big on the toffee and the nuts the beers also show some estery notes. The mouthfeel is a bit syrupy. Enjoyable but not very complex
