Appearance- A deep reddish brown with a tan finger head that retains well.
Smell- Awesome. Caramel in the forefront with a little bit of a yeasty smell.
Taste- Dark fruit. Malty sweetness with a little smokiness. No bitterness noticeable; maybe could have been a little more for balance.
Mouthfeel- Alcohol is not as well hidden as it could have been, but overall the mouthfeel is nice.
Overall- A nice Scotch Ale with a subtle Belgian influence noticeable through its yeasty aroma. A good beer that I will buy again.

Great story on the creation of this brewery - WWI Scottish soldiers asked a Belgium brew master to brew some Scottish ale and the rest is history .
Served from a .75 liter bottle into a tulip glass.
A - Beautiful clear reddish brown with lots of heady froth that dissipates rapidly in to full top and side lacing. .
S - Dark fruit, yeast, mineral and sweet malt
T - Excellent! no hoppy bitterness, just malt and dark fruit, yeast. Finishes with balanced medium sweet and bitterness.
M - So smooth and mellow. No alcohol bite. Low carbonation.
O - One of my new regular's - bought on a whim but happy I did. Will buy again. Noted that there was what seemed to be dried yeast on the bottom of the inside of the bottle after I poured the last drop but no strange taste or smell. If anyone has experienced this aspect with other beers I would be happy to hear it.
