Served in tulip. Poured a very attractive, clean, clear reddish brown color with almost an inch of light khaki colored head that had very good retention and lots of thick, sticky lacing.
The aroma was mostly solid grains, with a very low amount of sourness in the background. Same song and dance on the tongue, nice grains, a very light level of sourness, and a bit of funk on the finish.
The body was nicely medium, and had a very dry finish. Drinkability was good, pretty easy actually, due to the low sour level. Overall, a prety nice brew, just not very sour. Probably worth a shot if you see it.

Served on-draught into a Mitchells of Lancaster flared stem-tulip at a bar in Southern California. Reviewed from notes taken last weekend.
A: Pours a two finger head of beige colour. Nice cream and thickness. Above average (~2-3 minute) retention. Body colour is a caramel-brown. Nontransparent. Glowing. No yeast particles are visible. No bubble show.
Sm: Caramalt, bready malts. Quite bready, actually. Toffee. Toasted malts. Cream. Brown bread. A mild strength aroma. No alcohol is detectable.
T: Bready with caramalts featured noticeably. Brown bread. Cream. Toasted malt. Hints of toffee. Balanced, with layered complexity. Tasty and nicely subtle. Definitely a noticeably Belgian take on the style. I like it.
Mf: Smooth and wet. Good carbonation. Nice thickness. Suits the flavour profile well.
Dr: Drinkable and enjoyable. A lovely Belgian take on the scotch ale style. Hides its ABV well. I like it, but I doubt I'd get it again. One of the better beers I've had from Brasserie de Silly so far.
