Pours golden with a small rapidly fading head.
Nose shows bready and biscuity malt, faint grassy hops along with oats and grain, like wholemeal bread.
Very similar flavours but corn and cooked vegetable notes invade. Pretty sweet, hardly any balancing bitterness whatsoever.
Nice high carbonation suits the beer well. Very watery body though.

Poured on tap into a pokal style glass at Churchkey DC.

Pale brass yellow in appearance, with virtually no carbonation at all, faint white head is presented which falls normally. While drinking this beer it can't even maintain a collar. For a pilsner this is one of the most lifeless beers I have ever seen.

I take a whiff for the nose and I really smell nothing. Faint malts, no, crisp sensations, no, hops, no, bread tight character... nothing. While drinking though the honey sweetness comes out.

When I mention while drinking, on the palate this is an incredibly honey tasting beer. Light bodied with out syrup, but large emphasis on honey and sweetness with a light moughtfeel. Faint malt hits on the finish.

Overall, it's quite sweet but tolerable, and one really interesting beer but nothing like I was expecting. Refreshing and quenching yes, true to style I would say not even close. Probably not what I look for in this style at all.

A bright piss- yellow color with a thin white head.

Smell of adjunt, corn mainly with a green twist. Some green malt odors. Very little smell at all.

Taste: pff, what taste? There is the corny taste and a whiff of malt. No hop presence at all. I always wondered why Belgians can brew the best beers in the world and brew tasteless pilsners at the same time. Body is thin and watery. Ok, drinkability is average.

Presentation: Sampled at the Triangel Brasserie & Restaurant in Halle (see BeerFly) on Easter Monday 28th April, 2005.

On draft, the Silly Pils was available in 25cl [€1.60], 33cl [€2.00] or 50cl [€3.00]. The smallest offering seemed the best.

Appearance: Shockingly chilled an lucid, the crystal clear straw yellow Pils looks the biz when it arrives with a large white frothy head. Immense carbonation and lots of streamers on the body. Punctuating conditioning.

Nose: Nothing. Honestly, it smells of nothing!!!! This got me, no Malt, no Hops, no Yeast, nothing…..anything. Quite incredible. Utterly Ambient. How do I mark that, well it's not "bad" or "awful" which is a 1.0, so to be fair I guess I go for a 3.0 !?!?

Taste: Pilsner malts with some mild Saaz hops in the backend with some metallic Can like twinges in the swallow. Low profile tastes that remind you that this is a Pils, as opposed to a Pilsner, if that makes sense.

Mouthfeel: Mediocre feel, light and watery yet it retains something of a Pils feel, barely scrapes a 2.5.

Drinkability: Clean and very crisp, like chilled fresh well-water it quenches your thirst immediately but fails to offer respite any respite to a flavor quest.

Overall: Silly Pils is far from the piss-poor adjunct laden crap from the Big Boys but sadly it lacks a decent amount of ingredients to challenge them.

It’s still Silly though, cuz when I thought “Pils”……
………….well it made me laugh…. Haha!!! ;-))

And….as my mate EyeChartBrew would add……

Music: The Smiths, Hatful of Hollow; “Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now”
