330ml bottle, poured into Kasteel chalice. A: Very dark mahogany, opaque, one fat
finger head, very good retention and lacing. S: Raspberry, malt, molasses. T: Brown
sugar, malt raspberry, molasses, hints of yeast and cork, booze well hidden. M:
Smooth and crisp. Light body for the high abv, moderate carbonation. O: Fairly
typical dark beer from the Du Boca line up, for some reason there seemed to be
less going on than with lower strength beers from the same brewery, by no means
a bad beer but unexciting.

On tap at the Brabantse Aap in Amsterdam.

Served in a porcelain chalice - dark, malty flavor, characteristic of a trappist dubbel, but with a little more punch. Not much carbonation, a rather smooth finish. Overall, a nice representation of a dark, Belgian-style strong ale.

This beer is dark brow with a red hue. The head and lace are both frothy and an almost tan off white. The aroma is roasted malt with raisins and prunes. It has a spicy end but is mainly dried fruit like in flavor. The mouth feel is on the heavier end of medium. Overall not that bad.

On-tap at De Bekeerde Suster, Amsterdam, Netherlands

A: The beer is hazy dark reddish brown in color. It poured with a finger high beige head that died down and left a large patch of bubbles in the center of the glass and a collar around the edge.
S: Light aromas of dark fruits are present in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste has flavors of dark fruits with hints of sweetness and faint amounts of spices towards the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very drinkable dubbel that seems to have just enough sweetness. The alcohol is very well hidden.

A fine good drinking dark ale, not very complex. Bold yeasty aroma, with mollasses and liqourice. Medium mouthfeel, yielding flavours of carmel and cola. Alcohol is well hidden. Dark brown body with generous one-half inch of retained head, and leaving lace down the glass.

Brownish color. Yeasty nose like the Belgian beers, dark fruit in the nose style prunes and brown sugar.

The entrance in the mouth is good, well spiced with a little aftertaste of alcohol as a bit in a rose wine a tad too dry.

Too bad that feeling, just moved to take the place of the spices that evaporate completely in the finish.
