here is the official blurb: Patrick Hendrikse and Bart Obertop have travelled to Batemans Brewery, in Lincolnshire, to collaborate in brewing this beer especially for this Wetherspoon real-ale festival. This ruby-coloured ‘bock bier’ contains highlights of maltiness and a touch of roast in the flavour, while the German hops combine to provide a smooth bitterness. Hops used: Hallertauer Tradition, Northern Brewer.

My review:

Hand-pulled pint on 26th Oct 2012 in a Wetherspoons pub at Bridgnorth, Shropshire.

Dark amber with reddy hues to the body with a full and lasting crown of cream coloured foam.

The nose was sweet malty molasses: toffee and caramel.

Taste wise it was also on the sweet side: again caramel and toffee flavours, but with a redeeming hop presence after the initial molasses rush which helped the beer balance it's self out a little. I would have had another but there wasn't the time!

Almost smooth and rich, but a very pleasant beer indeed.
