Served on-tap at Great Hall Bar at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC
A: Pours a hazy dark golden yellow in color with light to moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and some hints of orange + apricot highlights. The beer has a finger tall dense foamy light beige head that slowly reduces to a thick film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of floral and citrus/grapefruit hops over light aromas of citrus and toasted malts.
T: Upfront there is a light flavor of cereal grain, toasted, and caramel malts with just a hint of honey sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of floral and citrus/grapefruit hops which impart a light to moderate amount of bitterness which lingers for a moderate amount of time.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Light amounts of dryness present.
O: Overall a very enjoyable brew with well hidden alcohol (bartender seemed to think that the beer clocked in around 7-8% ABV but it was not listed anywhere).
