From notes 10/31/11: Pours a deep gold producing a nice white head and webby, sticky lacing. Aroma is citrus and pine hops, spice and caramel malt. Taste is hop dominant pine and citrus with a malt sweetness throughout the sip. Faintly dry/bitter finish and aftertaste. Very drinkable.

Pours golden color with thin white head, head dissipates quickly some lacing.
Smell this will sound odd but it smells dusty!! also light citrus smell.
Taste slight hop taste little fruity bitter taste as well.
Feel light and clean sort of dry
Overall this was a good beer I am glad I tried would not have another.

Highland has announced they are retiring this IPA, which just doesn't stand up against most IPAs. There will be a release party on 12/31/15 for "Highland IPA" which is replacing it, a west style IPA.

True to the style, it does not slap you up sideways like American or PNW IPAs. Malty and crisp, it has a light mouthfeel and easy drinking for a hophead. I'd buy it again, and probably will next time I'm in Tennessee.

12-oz bottle into Belgian ale glass
A - 2 fingers of white suds over a cloudy body of gold; moderate visible carbonation; decent lace
S - floral, citrus, biscuity malts
T - tropical fruits, citrus, pine, grass, herbal, biscuity malt backbone; pretty well-balanced
M - smooth creamy medium body, medium carbonation
O - Kashmir is an ok IPA.
