On tap at the brewpub. This has been called Left End Pale Ale at the brewery for awhile now. Comes in at 5.5%. Poured into a pint glass.

A-Pours a somehwat hazy amber. It has a 3/4 finger off white head that is quite active and bubbly in one half of the glass and relatively flat on the other half. Leaves some nice lacing.

S-Nicely hopped with lots of pine and citrus aromas. It smells closer to an IPA. There is some pale malt and a little sweetness. Ideal score would be a 4.25.

T-Raw, resiny pine hop flavor hits first. Pale malt and toasted malt along with a touch of sweetness come through in the middle. It has a dry finish.

M-Medium bodied with above average carbonation for a pale ale. It is quite dry and crisp.

D-A really nice hoppy session beer.

I always enjoy this one. They have really done a good job kicking up the hops in this one. A great keg beer.

They're now calling this one "left end" pale ale..

A: Hazy honey orange, almost no head. No lacing.

S: Crisp light almost fruity. Some hops come through but not strong at all.

T: Almost exactly like their regular(filtered) pale ale, just feels a little more weighty on the tounge.

M: Nice and light. Again not much different from their Mt. Tam pale ale. I like this one better just 'cause it's unfiltered. (that's what your liver's for!)

D: The board says 6%, so I say good all-nighter. This one goes down really easy!

a: hazy amber/rust with just a little bit of foam that could not be called head; light movement

s: light citrus and piney hops; some spiciness and a malt backbone

t: citrus and piney hops; spiciness w/ strong raw grains

m: a little aggressive for me an served way too cold; normally i don't hold that against the beer but when it is served that way at the brewery it can be really annoying to have to put the beer between your legs while you let it warm up; decent weight though

d: an ok pale ale with some nice hoppy flavors but could be a bit more flavorful

I picked up a growler of this beauty after having a couple test pints at Marin's brew-pub joint thing. Maybe I was just in the mood for something big and bitter, but this beer struck me right out of the gate.

Poured out of a growler into an imperial pint glass a murk golden color and a nice creamy head with decent retention. The floral part of the nose had a type of dirtiness and the mouth feel was real big. A bitter, spicy finish did the trick. Hangs in your mouth for a while just to get you to the next sip.

I believe this is an offering only availible at the brewery in Larkspur Landing, and it came highly recommended from the brewmaster himself. This beer pours a hazy orange-ruby color with a moderate head. There is also a constant stream of bubbles effervessing from the bottom of the glass that are moving at a very slow rate. The smell is wonderful, very floral and refreshing. Excuse me for saying so, but this type of hop really reminds you how similar the hop plant and hemp plant are. And the taste helps as well... a very mellow but pronounced mouthfeel as it goes down. Refreshing and complex, it starts beneign then develops into a full blown hop-gasm of rosemary and bitter water, with a hint of sweet malts to help as it goes down. A very special beer, and well worth enjoying if you're able.
