Visited today for lunch.
Atmosphere was good as it was a perfect day to have a seat outside in the shade.
Quality of the beer was solid.
Service was pretty solid even though there was a pretty full house outside. The server did not take time to chat until the end of round 3.
Selection was pretty good. I had the White Knuckle, cask IPA, and the San Quentin Stout. Thought they would have more available.
Food was solid. Burgers and onion rings were very spot on.
Overall value was good for the Bay area. Two burgers and 5 beers for just over $50.

This visit was last summer and looking back has an odd feel. The Giants were on and I remember thinking how they were two years removed from a World Series and that the Dodgers were in complete control of the division... but I digress.
Parking was somewhat difficult as I don't know if commuters like to stop here, but inside at least it didn't seem to be as packed. I tried a sampler and was happy with the beers I was presented, but not overly impressed. The place did have sort of a sports bar feel to it, and I was wondering if Huey Lewis and the News would be lurking around the corner somewhere. In short, a fun place to be serving good but not great beer. If you're in the area worth a stop and if I was in the area I would probably visit often.

Stopped by for lunch with the family. Had their beers a bunch of times, but had never been to the brewpub.
Atmosphere is like any brewpub, casual with a bustling noise level. Service was okay. Took awhile after getting seated to have someone stop by our table, but otherwise the service was average.
The food was your standard brewpub fare, but the quality was a lot higher. I had the hot pastrami and Swiss, and it was very good. I tried a piece of bacon from my wife's burger and I thought it was one of the best pieces of bacon I have ever had. The kid's menu was pretty standard, but my daughter seemed to enjoy it. Prices were a little above average, but not horrible.
I tried the sampler platter, and thought most of the beers were average. There were a couple of beers that just weren't good (Belgian Dubbel and the ES Chi) and a couple of standouts (White Knuckle IPA and Stinson Beach Peach), other than that, I could take em or leave em.
In the end, I'm more likely to go back for the food rather than the beer.

A: Very relaxed and comfortable restaurant and brewery with helpful staff and social bartenders.
S: attentive waiters and waitresses bring food in a timely manner. Bartenders do a good job of making their way around the bar, offer good recommendations and know the Marin brews.
S: a good range of delicious and well crafted Marin beers
F: a large selection of food- burgers, sandwiches, salads, soups and daily specials.
Dessert is great too!
Marin Brew Co is an excellent place to grab a casual, delicious meal, a delicious beer, and to enjoy the company of your friends. And their Tuesday $3 pint night is not to be missed!

As a west coast IPA fanatic, I so wanted to love this place. I'd tried the White Knuckle Double IPA before so I thought I was on the right track. But while the beer list in the menu had a few IPAs, the list of beers that actually had on tap was much more limited. And ni IPAs! They tended toward malty with an amber, two porters and not a lot I was excited about. I started with a pale ale which was decent but not memorable and their Orange & Black which was about the same.
The menu was fantastic with burgers, pizzas, salads, sandwiches, etc. but the food turned out to be just adequate. I had the blackened chicken sandwich with avocado and jack cheese. The portions were large. But the sandwich was dry, the chicken was overcooked and the bread was overly crunchy. The onion rings were room temperature when they arrived and pretty soaked in grease.
The service was average and the prices were a little on the high side. The atmosphere is its best feature. The interior is nice and the outdoor seating is even better. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to win me over.
I think with a little more effort in each area it could have been fantastic but they just seem happy with the location.

Ah, one of the first brewpubs I ever went to on a road trip. Located in Larkspur, its a rich enough and learned enough place for locals tired of the crime n grime of the city. Plenty of open area for seating for dining, lots of wood and 49er decorations all over the place, kind of a seafaring vibe to it.
Beer and food is good. Really a big fan of the San Quentin Stout. Their hoppy stuff is legit when fresh. Be careful at stores though, they still don't bottle date anything, and I've had some garbage White Knuckle well beyond its prime.
Service is decent, they shut down the place when they feel like it sometimes, so be forwarned that you might get rushed to finish your drinks even though the hours seem to indicate they should be open later.
Nonetheless, a decent place with good beer, would just like to see them up their selection of in house beers. Cool grassy areas outside to wrestle around in too when you get drunk and aren't ready to go home yet.

Very spacious, including a nice long bar area, lots of outside seating and a nice area behind the bar to hang out as well. Can fit a fairly large crowd but is still somewhat intimate, if that makes any sense.
Selection varies and can be great but can also be very sparse. Their IPAs are very good and their San Quentin Breakout Stout is an excellent beer. The porter is excellent as well. I've also enjoyed most of their other beers as well. Triple Dipsea is good, not great and their barleywine is a touch better. Solid IPAs though, and they have started making some Belgian inspired pale ales, which is nice. Had their Cuvee Roge recently, which was a limited edition, bottled, on premises only sour ale, and that was excellent. Wish they made a few more one-offs but they are consistent and very good.
Very nice atmosphere and the food is solid. Haven't had too much, but for me having vegan options is my only concern and they do have some things that I can eat. The outdoor patio is really spacious and quite nice. Can't complain about the service at all.
I'd surely recommend this place as they make very good, consistent beers, but don't be surprised if they only have four or five beers on tap, sometimes they have many more but you never know.

I will begin with stating, if it were not for Marin Brew Co, I may not have gotten into craft beer. This place, along with Moylans, holds a special place in my heart.
I typically only come here on Tuesday nights when they have $3 pints. The food and service are pretty average. Not bad, just average. It can be really slow on Tuesdays because it is very busy.
The food is okay. There's nothing wrong with it, some things are actually pretty tasty, but nothing special. I see it like this, if there were not beer, I would probably not come to get food.
The selection is good. They have quite a few brews. Most are nothing special, but White Knuckle is one of the best DIPAs available and San Quentin Breakout Stout is absolutely top notch. Unfortunately, they are not a part of the $3 pints because of the alcohol content.
I will always feel fondly towards this place this place, but in all honesty, now that I live in Sonoma County, I feel no need to come here unless I am already in town.

Ahhhh Marin Brewery my home away from home! Service is adequate, friendly, semi knowledgeable. Beautiful woman work there, honestly might be a prerequisite to land a job as a waitress. Beer is awesome with great a selection. You can order 22oz bombers of there beer at your table to go which is cool. Honestly what does it for me they offer really unique fresh and delicious menu. Catering to all types of taste. From your i want a greasy hamburger to a deliciously prepared fish and chips. They even make a note to offer a good selection of vegetarian dishes. All in all wonderful place to visit easy to find, my girlfriend and i go there probably every two weeks.

(Visited 01/2011): Marin Brewing is located in Larkspur in the Larkspur Landing Shopping Center off Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Private lots are abundant all around the shopping center but the place is perpetually busy.
The interior is fairly spacious, with the bar area separated from the dining space. There is an area for groups as well. TVs behind the bar, and dartboards as well.
Marin's beer selection is pretty good. They have around 10-12 of their beers on tap, and offer samples. The beers range in style from standard fare like a Blonde, IPA, Amber etc, plus some more unique offerings like Hoppy Holidaze, and unfiltered APA and a Barley Wine. All of the beers are decent, with a couple being pretty good.
Service on a weekday dinner at the bar was good. The bartender was efficient with service and knew their beers well.
Our food was good, no complaints there.
All in all this is a decent beer spot for the area. I doubt I would consider it a "must-visit" for a San Francisco visit but considering it was in walking distance from our hotel I was happy.
