Poured from a 750 milliliter bottle into a tumbler glass. The label said it was 7.8% abv with an expiration date of 5/29/09.

Appearance: Clear golden yellow with a big white head.

Smell: Very calm and mellow aroma. Biscuits from the malt. Some apple and pear smell as well.

Taste: Flowery pale malt taste. Light hop aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Pretty thick for the style and could have used more carbonation.

If I had to compare this to something it would be an American blonde ale.

A: It poured golden yellow in appearance with a thin head that quickly died down into nice lacey patterns of bubbles on the surface. There is a light level of carbonation visible from the rising bubbles.
S: There is a bit of sweetness from the malt in the smell, which is filled with aromas of apples and has some hints of yeast.
T: Like the smell, the taste has lots of malty sweetness and flavors of apples. The underlying hops are only slightly evident in the resulting finish, which is a bit dry.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and a tad thick due to the limited amount of carbonation.
D: No traces of alcohol are perceptible in the taste; this is exceptionally drinkable and would be great to pair with some food for dinner. By itself, the beer is rather refreshing to drink.

Appearance: It has a nice golden/copper colour to it. It has a nice white head that dies down quite fast and has nice lacing.

Smell: The aromas definitly give out hints of honey, some bready malts, some spices and some fruit.

Taste: Like the aromas, it has a nice sweet citrucy/spicy flavour to it with hints of fruity notes but the hops are very faint.

Mouthfeel: It has a medium/high carbonation with a nice overall balance.

Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied with good flavours and aromas. It's an overall good beer.

750 ml corked bottle, bought in France.
Golden nearly clear colour, large lasting white head. Pleasant flowery and fruity aroma, also notes of honey and leather. Flavour is spicy and somewhat alcoholic, with a peppery finish. This bière de garde is well worth sampling.

A- Pours a clear golden color with a slight chill haze. A huge foamy head, good retention and lacing.

S- Malty sweet, fruity, pleasant....

T- A hint of alcohol upfront, a dry fruity sweetness. Sort of musty, with a grape peel sourness. Finishes with a grassy hop note.

M- Smooth, medium bodied. Carbonation is brisk but appropriate.

D- Excellent, I'd enjoy a few of these....

This beer is now available at the local Jewel if your in the greater Chicago area. Thats pretty cool. But at teh same time pretty bad. Now when I go grocery shopping, I know I will be constantly tempted to by good beer when maybe the budget is tight. But beer is always worth it in the end.

Pours a clear, dark yellow with a hint of rst hue. Very nice bubbling beneath a two finger head post-pour that recedes to a good film o' foam. Strong pilsner like malts give a cracker aroma to ths brew with some faint herbas from the French countryside. Malt chunks and then quick chammomile and lavender notes, then a touchingly sweet bread finish. Good carboanted palate with an hebal feel that lingers quite well. Don't even notice the 7.8% alcohol in this brew.
