I purchased this one from a vending machine at a camping park for motorhomes in Salzburg, Austria, and drank it a week or so later as we cleaned out the campervan in Sluzmoos, Bavaria, on our last day in it. Purchasing beer from a vending machine is unheard of in Australia, so extra marks for the experience!
L: Crystal, clear golden yellow with a thin white head. Lots of carbonation in the glass.
S: Yeasty malt and not much else.
T: Sweet, yeasty and stale. Not terribly good.
M: Mild and slightly thin.
O: This is a Euro lager that's nothing but average in every respect. I suspect that buying beer from a vending machine is not a guarantee of quality conditions for maintaining beer flavour and presentation!
Cheers!

16oz can
Pours two big fingers of white head into my Willi. Retention is above average, leaving a nice rim of foam. Lacing is good. Body is goldish-orange, accurate for an Austrian Marzen; some sources call this a Helles which is laughable especially considering Stiegl specifically makes a Helles. Looks nice.
Nose definitely indicates Marzen - bready, caramel, floral. Smells great.
Flavor is super bready, bread bread and more bread. Slightly toasty, some honey. Noticeably clean for a beer this malt forward. Wonderful.
Carbonation is on the higher side. Very light bodied. Malts hint at a sweetness, but this drinks very well-attenuated. Bitterness is very light. Great mouthfeel.
The lighter body makes for a very drinkable beer.
Overall I really enjoyed this. I would firmly call this a Marzen, but with a sessionable twist.

Lovely mid gold pour, pretty in the glass, albeit without much head retention. Sweet grains and hops on the nose. Taste follows. Standard helles with a pleasant bittersweet and dry finish.

Had this on tap. Pours crisp, fizzy, clear gold color with one finger head. Lacing is minimal. Basically, the aromas were dominated by cereal and malts. Taste of the same cereal and mat with a sweet touch. Elevated carbonation has little to no bitterness. Enjoyable. Perfect with the Margherita pizza I had.

It pours a transparent amber with a white head and a malty nose. The flavor tastes like the smell, very malt forward. It's a pleasant and clean beer.

First beer in Vienna! On draft at an Irish pub near the hotel, “The Oak”. Just a good, clean, crisp beer that goes well with food. Not going to seek it out but fun to finally try a major Austrian beer brand.

16.9 oz can.
Pours a crystal clear pale golden color with a significant foamy white head. Good head retention. Tons of sticky lacing.
Strong aromas of doughy malt, cereal grains, wet grass, light citrus, and floral hops.
The flavor brings notes of cereal grain, sweet dough, honey, and very subtle hops. A bit too sweet and malt-forward for the style.
The feel is light bodied with pretty good carbonation. Extremely dry finish.
Overall, this is a solid German lager. Unfortunately it's too sweet and the hop presence is minimal at best. With some spicy hop character, this could be an exceptional beer.

500ml can poured into kitchen glass.
Pours a clear gold with one fat finger of off-white head that leaves a few splotches of lace as it recedes.
Smells of sweet grain, baking bread, garden flowers, muddled pomme fruit and some grass clippings.
Tastes of grainy, bready pale malt, apple chips and more floral, grassy hops.
Feels light and peppy. Light bodied with frothy carbonation. Finishes off-dry.
Verdict: Recommended. I'm glad it comes in a big can.

Pours a golden in the typical German helles fashion. Head is dense. Some floral character on the nose along with some cereal grain as well. The malt is light and not particularly rich. It's got some nice crusty bread character with enough noble hops to prevent this from being too malt forward. It's dry in a great way.

Looks exactly like a typical lager. Smells pretty close to typical German lager fare (Austria is part of Großdeutschland, do not dispute this). Some bready lager malt on the nose, a bit wet smelling somehow, can't detect any hops. The flavour is mostly that sweetish bready malt from start to finish, not as good as Munich malts, but not bad. The hops presence is a bit weak: it's there, but I find it somewhat lacking. The balance thus skews towards the sweet and malty side. Still, it's drinkable, refreshing, pleasant even. Overall a half decent German lager, it could just use a bit more bite from the hops.
