Was told that this is a sour mash oak aged version of the Winter Warmer "Heat Miser" w/ cherries and vanilla.
Poured into snifter @ Steelhead
A - Pours a deep ruddy brown w/ ruby highlights, and no head.
S - Smells of oak, cherries, vanilla, wine, caramel, spicy hops, adidic
T - Taste mirrors the nose, oak, cherry, vanilla, wine, caramel, spicy and floral hots, clean lactic acid, lemons
M - This is where the beer becomes a train wreck. It is a bitter beer and sour, the two don't play well together, the bitterness is quite harsh. Decent carb, medium body, tart, and bitter.
O - Not a bad attempt at doing a decent sour, but the bitterness of the base beer messed it all up. If they were to redo this beer and back off the bittering quite a bit, it would be quite nice.
Serving type: on-tap
