0,5L bottle poured into a proper glass at Giesinger Garten in Munich, an Augustiner-sponsored restaurant well southeast of the Hbf. As soon as my ICE train from Stuttgart arrived in Munich (late of course), I hopped on the U Bahn to Candidplatz. This is a surprisingly delicious example of the style. Although I shouldn’t be surprised. This is a difficult beer to find. I’ve never seen it in stores and I’m not sure it’s available on draft anywhere, just like their Pils. Anyway, has all the great qualities of a superb Hefe. Super fresh, fruity, spiced. Massive flavor and massively drinkable. Impressive.

On tap at the beer hall side of Augustiner Keller location. Not quite Weihenstephaner/Franziskaner for me but really nice classic hefe.

Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)...
L- Mid amber, clear, pours with a small patch of white foam.
S- It has a spicy aspect to it....
T- ...which also carries over into the taste. It also has ester (fruit) notes that I associate strongly with Belgian wheat beers.
F- CO2 in the mouth is huge, unusually so; striking as in the glass (my regular/trusted one) the CO2 it is quite uninspiring. Hops/malts balance well for a balanced feel.
O- Very nice indeed, lovely balance, understated elegance. Easily sessionable for the enthusuastic. Makes a lovely summer beer.
Review/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the lables to see what I missed! Augustiner-Brau are one of my fav German breweries, their Hell is a joy to behold. They are ultra-trad so no surprises in the ingredients etc. This is also really drinkable and well done. Sadly their beers are very niche to find in the UK, at least, stocked in a walk-in shop. You should have some more luck with more specialist mail-order firms, otherwise that long weekend in Bavaria is looking an even better idea...
500ml bottle BB: 08/2021 £2.75 Bought from TremblingMadness, York/UK as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.

Bottle at Las Buenas Pulgas, served in a wheat beer glass.
Clear golden colour, big head that lasts until the end. Creamy dense lacing.
Aroma of banana, peaches, oranges, some cloves
Medium body creamy texture, lively carbonation. Fruity finish.
Taste is similar to the aroma.
Good wheat one, putting more accent other fruity side than on the spicy one.

The beer felt very welcoming as I drank it, like meeting an old friend. No surprises, just a warm comfortable encounter.

Bottle,
Pours great looking reddish gold. Big head
Initial aroma big on he banana, this dissipates to a more clovey and peppery aroma. Good.
Taste is a bit peppery, nice malt, fairly thin as most of these are with big carb. Touch of lactic juicyness and dryish finish. No hop really to speak of but it's not really relevant for this beer.
Very good hefeweizen
