Had on tap in Saskatoon at The Woods Alehouse and a surprisingly good balance of malt and hop...def not West Coast ...sophisticated in the English style and kudos to Paddock Wood for this.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a stemmed tulip glass
A vigorous pour yielded 2 fingers of tan bubbly head and a very clear (filtered?), deep caramel colored body leaving some nice lacing as the head slowly settles. The nose is dominated by a massive malt profile of toasted sweet caramel malt with a secondary focus on floral and spicy hops. On the palate, the toasted malts dominate again sweet, caramel and biscuits that transitions to a relatively one-dimensional hop profile…bitter, dry and slightly astringent. The body is medium with standard carbonation, but the result is slick and a bit heavy. Overall, this is DIPA that is much more focused on the malt profile, which is super tasty, but overpowers the 1-dimensional hop profile.
