Located in the North West end of the city, this was the second Brewster's location opened in Regina. They pretty much have the city covered now with a franchise in the east, north west and south. Parking is ample as it is a stand alone building in a shopping center parking lot. There are two seperate areas of the building: One side is a family licensed restaurant; the other side is the brewpub. Food and beer are available on both sides, but children are only allowed in the restaurant side.
Fairly decent atmosphere with lots of beer memorabilia on the walls. Displays of beer bottles and signs from various craft brewers are everywhere. Lots of tvs, some VLTs (Video Lottery Terminals) and one pool table. There are a few booths, but it's mostly tables and chairs inside and on the deck with a few stools at the bar too. Open, high ceiling, warehouse feel. Frosted glass hides the brewing equipment behind the bar.
In general, I find the quality of Brewster's beers to be good and consistent. There really isn't anything overly impressive, but most of there beers are average to above average and rarely do I recieve an off pint. The quality of beers here is no different from the other two locations in town and I believe that's because each location brews beers and then they ship the product to the other stores.
Service is generally good, but on my last visit (a thursday afternoon around 2pm) I wasn't so impressed. It was well after lunch hour, but most tables hadn't been bussed yet. In fact, all the tables were dirty on the deck and there was only one table with patrons at it. I also sat at the only clean table I found inside for about 4 or 5 minutes (even though there were only 3 other groups in the joint) before getting service. This isn't the type of service I've come to expect there, but had it been my first visit, it probably would have been my last.
There isn't much selection for beers beyond their own brews. They do have 10 house brews (which is double the average around here), but after that there are a couple of macros on tap and a variety of macro imports in cans and bottles (Harp, Guiness, Stella, etc). While it's better than alot of brewpubs in town, it's nothing to write home about.
I didn't have food on this visit, but in previous visits I've found their food to be above average in both quality and price compared to most other brewpubs in town.
Overall, Bushwakker is head and shoulders above Brewsters, but any of the Brewsters locations is head and shoulders above the rest of the brewpubs in Regina. If I'm not going to Bushwakker, Brewsters is my next choice.
