Getting non-macro beer in hotels on the Strip is often quite challenging, and there are very few places to stop and get some beers without losing money on gambling at the same time. Thankfully the Monte Carlo has this brewpub.

As of 2007, the Brewery is shut down. Taking its place will be a Brew Pub offering as many as 150 beers on tap. That is probably a better idea since the beer they made wasn't interesting, just different compared to other casinos. I will post a new review after my next stop (March Madness).

While this is more than I expected to see in a casino from a restaurant, it wasn't a very impressive brewpub. They had the usual range of choices, about 6 or 7 i think, and the stout I had first was good. Unfortunately they serve no IPA, and were out of the pale ale for my entire stay. Also, while they allegely serve all these brews on the casino floor, each time I ordered one the drink lady brought me back another dusty "Winner's wheat". The price was right, but once again, I expected more.
The food was average, nothing special. And the atmosphere was rather dead at the early hour of the afternoon we arrived at. It's very open inside with high ceilings covered in exposed pipes and has some brewtanks visible in one of the back corners. There was also a rather large stage situated in the middle of the far wall of the place. I would imagine that this place would be more enjoyable at night with a live performance. Overall, if you're at the Monte Carlo anyways, it can't hurt to stop by.

The annual trip to Vegas included some beery places along the way. As I'm too lazy and/or gambling-prone to leave the strip area, most of the places like this get included.

Unfortunately, I left a bit uninspired by the Monte Carlo Brewery. Besides the fact that it is within short stumbling room of the great pool, it comes off with a dark, batcave vibe. It is bright enough by the entrance to take in the brewing equipment. Ample enough size to fit plenty of folks, though it always appears empty when we've visited.

I hate to say it, but the service was the worst, with people not very attentive or knowledgable. Questions concerning seasonals were skewed during the answer to attempt to get us to purchase a "giraffe" of brew.

Beer was well done and served just right. Had a half dozen of the typical brewpub mix, with the stout being the best of the group.

Majority of their brews are available while on the casino floor, which is a plus. Several sixers were enjoyed at the craps table.

This was a neat place, and a nice place to go have a drink out if your out walking around looking at all the casinos. I went in the afternoon, and it was very relaxing and calm, just a good place to hang out for a while. At night they have live music so I would imagine the place is a bit different then.

The food was good, just normal brewpub fare, with reasonable prices. The beer was good, with a variety of styles, so it shouldn't be hard to find something that you like, or you can try a sampler.

Service was excellent, with friendly and informative staff.

My fourth brewpub in 24 hours, matching my previous record set in San Francisco...

This place was pretty hard to find when entering off LV Blvd. You have to wind your way through the casino. Once you are there, though, the casino is pretty much left behind. Set off with a stainless bar (chairs kinda uncomfortable) and lots of TVs, there was plenty to see and people to talk to.

They offer six beers and will serve them in a giant tube with a urn-style tapper. Wasn't drinking with a group, so I didn't try one.

They are currently celebrating their 10th anniversary with a special glass for 7.95 and 3.00 refills. Also with a Belgian Wit. Took advantage of the glass. The Wit wasn't bad either.

Ordered food from a pretty extensive, reasonable priced menu (also stainless). The food came quickly and tasted pretty good. Spent time talking to the bartender about the various beers and the couple next to me about the restaurants in the area.

Overall, I'd say this was a good place to go to get away from the sensory overload of the slots, etc. Especially when a good game is on. They even showed Illinois-Iowa football. I'll come back next time I visit.

Went there at 9:30 p.m. on a Friday. Very industrial loft feel to the place. High ceilings with pipes showing, stainless steel, etc. I sort of liked it. Rather large place. Casual dress.

Definitely a loud [music], lively place. Sort of a brewpub that also wants to have a hip edge. Lots of TV's around. There is also a stage area where they must have live music. Even had a mirror ball hanging [not typical brewpub iitemf]

We were seated promptly. Service was attentive throughout our stay.

They had 6 MC brews: Las Vegas lites, Winners Wheat, Jackpot Pale, High Roller Red, Silver State Stout and a Belgian wit [seasonal]. I believe they also had some macro stuff in bottles.

Food was pretty standard: Burgers, sandwhiches, pizza, salads. A simple, straitforward menu. We had a couple of appetizers: BBQ Wings and Calamari. Wings were very good and a good sized serving. Clamari was a huge serving but only OK tasting. [FYI: full menu served until 10 p.m., after that they have the Wings, Nachos & Quesidallas].

Overall, it is worth a stop if you are there. I tried the stout [good] and the wit [not good].

This was another stop during my bachelor party celebration. We were there in the afternoon, so it was relatively quiet and we sat in the back next to the windows that overlooked the pool area (great view!). The bar is quite large with high ceilings and appears to have a second floor balcony area. The stainless steel and chain-link fence motif is a little odd though. The beers were all decent with a pretty good selection. The food was above average and prices were reasonable for the strip. Service was good, even with a waitress change during our visit. The casino area is nice, but pretty much the same as any of the large casinos on the strip. However, the casino at the Monte Carlo has one great advantage, you can get the brews from the brewpub on the casino floor! Being able to drink a decent fresh microbrew while gambling more then made up for the fact that I was losing more then I was winning that night. I think it would be great to stay at the Monte Carlo during our next visit.

Atmosphere was decent, very long bar, dance floor, very loud music. When i was there at around midnight, there were music videos playing on the HD Tvs all over. The quality was decent. I tried 3 of the house brews, Winner's Wheat, High Roller Red, and Belgian Wit and they were all above average. Service was ok, quick refills once I had established myself as not being some punk kid (I'm only 23), but wasn't impressed initially with the short dry answers I got about the house brews. Selection was decent, mainly confined to their housebrews (5 active), and a lot of macros, but there were some Euro pales and some more of the common German beers.

BA Xadoor's bachelor's party: Day 2

We made our way to the Monte Carlo on a surprisingly not hungover Friday afternoon. After a morning filled with casino beers (I don't care how much you like SA Boston Lager) sometimes a respite is needed. And it was with this attitude that we headed over to the Monte Carlo on a Friday afternoon.

We arrived around 2 p.m. hungry and ready for a few beers. As the place was less than half occupied, getting a table proved no challenge at all. We were promptley seated at the very back of the brewpub with a decent view of the pool (a few people more than enjoyed this view, myself included). The brewpub itself is a spacious cold environment, stainless steel being the choice material here. Food and beer were above average, with a fine burger and decent stout being on the menu for me. The stout was the second best Vegas brew I had over the weekend, while the burger left me full for the rest of the night. The service was prompt and friendly, but the real charm of the Monte Carlo lies outside of the brewpub.

After finished our food and a few pints, we decided to hit the floor for a little gambling before heading back to our hotels and ultimately the MGM Grand for a nice show for the guys (La Femme). Availble on the floor were several Monte Carlo brews, although the stout was absent. A few pints of the MC amber were just what was needed to assauge my pains of losing yet more money.

Overall, I give the Monte Carlo Brew Pub my thumbs up. Decent beers and decent food easily accessible on the the strip. I'll definitely be back.

I've been to this brewpub a number of times on trips to Vegas. I've tried quite a number of their beers, and while I can't say I've ever had a bad beer...I can also say I've never had one that was overly memorable. It's a big place, & usually pretty crowded..and like anything in Vegas takes a small hike to get to since you have to traverse the casino to get to it..and it's all the way in the back corner of the hotel. The food has generally been good as well. Overall, it's a decent place but next time I'm in town I will probably try some of the other/newer establishments before heading back.

If you are looking for a good place for a cheap beer in Vegas, this is your place. However, watch out for the loud music and the crazy light show. I am not used to this at a brew pub. Food was ok, not great.

Plenty of area to sit down. Large open area with a dance floor. Open air side that connects with the hotel and casino.

Beer was light and didn't have much to offer. Decent at best. However, I cannot stress this is the cheapest place for a good beer - $3/pint - on the strip. I had the pale ale, not too bad.

This is one of those places that isn't sure what it should be. Is it a pub, a club, or a restaurant. Some places can juggle those roles well, this one might want to let go of the club role.

The food is basic pub fare. I've had excellent sandwiches here, but also some that weren't so good. Service has been hit or miss as well.

The beer selections seem to be slanted toward the light beer crowd, but I really enjoyed the stout and the amber.

The best time to visit the Monte Carlo Brewpub would be lunch time. It's not as enjoyable when the music blares and the club begins.

Was recently in Vegas on business, and made my way up the strip just for the brew-pub.

It was fairly late, although it is never late in Vegas, but the place was still half filled. We sat at the bar to keep distance from the live band that was mutilating songs by Cheap Trick, The Knack, and the like. The TV over the bar was a live video feed of the band. The only good thing about it was the female guitar player, at least there was something nice to look at.

There were at least 7 beers on the marquee, and when I asked the bartender what the "brewers" favorite was, he quickly said the belgian. I quized him on a few of the other beers and found him to be very knowledgeable. The beers were good. I did not try any food, but would recommend you stop by if you are in the area.

I was in Las Vegas for an industry function. I was psyched to find out that we were going to be based at the Monte Carlo Hotel. Can’t beat having a brewpub at your hotel!

This is a very large place. Lots of metal used in the décor. What’s with the chain link fence on the second floor? It kind of reminded me of a cross between a sports bar and the set from Blade Runner. Lots of TVs, so it’s a great place to grab a pint and watch how your sport bets are doing. I noticed they also have bands Thursday through Sunday.

I found the service to be very friendly and fast. No complaints there. The bartender had decent beer knowledge and had no problems offering up a bunch of samples.

The beers I sampled ranged from kind of average to pretty good. No real clinkers in the bunch, but no super stars either.

I only had a appetizers which were fine, but will judge the food next time I’m there.

I would put this place on your itinerary for your next trip to the strip. While not world class, the beers are far better than you will find at most casino bars.

The Monte Carlo Pub was on my list of places to check out while vacationing in Las Vegas. The brewpub was pretty easy to locate walking towards the back of the hotel near the food court. Great to see the massive copper tanks in the window, I knew I found the right place.

The brewery offers 6 main beers that they brew there; High Roller Red, Jackpot Ale, Las Vegas Lite, Silver State Stout, Winner's Wheat and 1 rotating selection. The Hefeweizen was the select brewmaster beer while I was there.

I sat at the bar during my visit and had a great time. I met a guy from California and had a great conversation about life, music, etc. The music was cool, it sounded like a classic rock station. They also offer live music 7 nights a week starting at 10 PM. I left before the band went on, but from what I heard the bands can be hit or miss depending on which night you go.

In terms of the quality of beer at this place, its average. It's great to see a microbrew pub in Las Vegas, because it's pretty rare to see any special craft beers. I tried the hefeweizen and it was okay. The Silver State Stout on the other hand was really good. A solid Irish stout that was very enjoyable. Prices were very reasonable by Vegas standards. I think I paid $3.75 a pint. They offer growlers and beers to go if you are so inclined. The menu is your standard pub menu. I had an avocado salad that was really tasty and offered a good portion.

The Monte Carlo brewery is certainly worth checking out if you are on the strip. The beer is nothing above average, but it works and most of all I liked the comforting pub feel that felt so welcoming.

Ron's Beer and Baseball Vegas Adventure - The Epilog. May 20, 2005

Originally scheduled as a nightcap of my Beer and Baseball Vegas Adventure. However, my wife had far more gambling endurance then I expected, and I kept her company at Belagio's casino until I could no longer stay awake. So the next morning I took the monorail that runs between the two hotels in order to have a couple early pints at Monte Carlo before our getaway lunch in Belagio's Conference Center. To me, the monorail effectively makes the pub as much a part of Belagio.

Thinking it over, since Vegas is a 24 hour tour, this still sorta qualifies as my fourth brewpub of the day.

Entering from the tram station, into the Monte Carlo's mall area, you quickly come across the vast windows filled with the brewing equipment. Then I turned the corner and realised how vast the pub actually is. The casino area is at the other end of the "mall" corridor. It's a big pub, though I think 11 am might not be the best time to truly gauge its atmosphere. Might to too clubbish in the evening.

I've only time for two pints, so in keeping with my normal habits, I order the pale ale/IPA ( see review) and the stout. Both are quite pleasing. I get a bottle of the pale to go.

Bartender was attentive and friendly.

It's not a through visit, but its enough that if my wife attends this conference again next year, a more substantial visit to this pub will be in order.

This was a nice place with OK beer. Seemed to be an inordinate amount of locals coming here which was unusual. The quality and servers are pretty good and the locals quite pleasant. The selection was OK and over time I tried everything they were offering there with nothing really standing out as any better than the rest. The Raspberry Wheat was pretty poor though so stay away from it. They have very nice growlers that might make a good souvenier for some. It was reasonably priced in the establishment itself but a bit overpriced at the kiosks scattered down the way.

Update from May 2005:
I just got back from my annual LV trip and of course, I hit the Monte Carlo brewery. I have to say that Main Street station, Big Dog, and Chicago all have better quality throughout all their offerings but that doesn't mean that this place has lousy beers. I tried all of them again and there are 2 or so that I thought were quite good while the other 3 were just a tad better than average. The burger was as good as ever and when you stay on the strip like I do, this place is real easy to get to. I still recommend this place pretty highly.

From my visits to this place in 02, 03, and 04:
I love this place. It is a great escape from the casino and definitely makes you feel like you are not in Las Vegas. This place could be anywhere in the USA. I think their burger is excellent. The beer on the other hand, is nothing special but still pretty decent. The service is good except that you have to order and pay for food and drink separately. I think the Monte Carlo is a pretty nice hotel also and is really not very well known. I have tried 2 other brewpubs in Las Vegas --Gordon Biersch and Main Street Station. I like Monte Carlo the best of the 3.

We stopped into this place with 2 beer lovers and two people who don't really care about beer one way or the other. The atmosphere was nice with a very short 5 minute wait for a table though the line looked long. The nice is that this brewpub is near the front door of the hotel/casino rather than stuffed way in the back.

The waitress that we drew tha day was just terrible. She was pretty pointed and rude to us when we refused her offer for a 5 liter pillar of beer (sorry, I don't drink my beer from an open plastic tower). Service was slow and and not very friendly.

The beer selection was decent, but they don't really have many (or any) great beers at this brewpub. I would say if you have a choice, avoid it and go to Triple 7 brewery.

The atmosphere here is nice with the same feel as BJs or any other brewpub that caters to all drinkers (not just beer drinkers). They have a full bar with cocktails and such.

Man, what is with all the sour grapes on this place? I stumbled upon this after walking out of Caesar's and past the Monte...and was really surprised at what I found.

Atmosphere - First off, this place is a really large and open bar/ restaurant. Kinda nice and darkly lit with the mash tons in clear view behind the initial bar. Friendly staff and waiters who are all very knowledgable about Vegas and the local brewpubs in general. People all having fun, drinking and eating. I thought it was a great atmosphere.

Quality - Everything was nicely done. Everything was clean and orderly. It's in the Monte Carlo, so of course it has a 'nicer' feel to it.

Service - As good as I expected. After getting pummeled on a blackjack table, I wanted a good brew and good people to break me away from my free Red Bull/Vodkas, and this was just the place. Friendly, attentive, and knowledgable. Good job.

Selection - Had their 'house' brews along with full liquor and beer sales. Something for everyone could be found here. No complaints.

Food - I had some kind of chicken wrap thing and it was awesome. My buddy had something he said was really good as well. A+!

Overall - Man, some people are rough on this place. Not sure why. Be thankful you can get micors at all in Vegas. Nice place, great atmosphere, average to good brews (LOVED the Stout), reasonable prices, and it is in one of the best casinos to gamble in on the strip. What's not to love?

The Monte Carlo Brewery is nothing but an average brewery in a not-so-average town.

I knew they were the only brewery on the strip, so I made my walk from the Sahara to the Monte Carlo (complete opposite ends of the strip) to sample their brews and hope to find something to write home about.

The brewery is tucked way back off the strip and you'll have trouble finding it... Just keep going and going. Once inside, its rather dark and loud, but very friendly. The waitstaff and bartenders are never more than an arms reach away, and are even quick to offer a light.

They had five regular brews and one seasonal (barleywine) on tap. The do fortunately have a sampler, so I ordered that up.

-Las Vegas Lites: light lager. The perfect beer for those that like Bud and other macrobrewed domestics. Nothing about this beer spoke to me. I would have liked a bit more hops to this to give it something to stand out.

-Jackpot Pale: the bartenders will tell you this is an IPA, and their label will tell you its an IPA; however, i certainly didn't taste an IPA. it was a bit hoppier than the Lites, infact, this is more of what i had hoped to taste from the Lites.

-Winner's Wheat: The wheat wasn't too bad actually. a good all-round wheat beer that would likely be easily confused with Widmer's Heff..

-High Roller Red: a decent full bodied ale that had a bit of toffee flavor to it if you paid attention very closely to the taste-buds.

-Silver State Stout: an Irish stout that again isn't much to write home about. Well ballanced all around with nothing too exceptional.

-seasonal Barleywine: i felt this was the best beer on tap, and i even went back for a pint though i would normally go for the stout. I'd suppose the reason i went for it is that it more resembled a stong ale, though it'd be on the weaker end.

The ABU of the barleywine isn't known, but their regulars are only 3-4.5%.

If you're on the strip and craving a real beer, this is a good place to stop. Otherwise, visit one of the areas other brewers.

So I made it a point to stop here on my recent visit to Las Vegas. As I was staying only one hotel away, I figured it would be a short walk...no one tells you that it takes 15 minutes to walk from one hotel to another in LV...jeez they're big.

Anyway, the pub is tucked away through the casino and on the shopping promenade and is fairly large with high exposed celings and a good view of the brewing opperation behind glass when you first walk in. The bar is extremely long and there is plenty of seating.

Unfortunately, I was only able to try one of the beers that they had on tap. There are 5 regular varieties and one special. The special this time around was a spiced winter ale, which was actually pretty darn good. Only down side was that it was poured into a frosted glass. When I asked for a glass that wasn't frosted they told me that they didn't have any. Fine. I asked the bartender about their beers and she knew a fair amount about them, but when I asked what their IPA was like she told me kind of like heineken...needless to say, it tasted NOTHING like what she described.

They sell growlers as well, which I was happy about as here in FL, we don't get any of them. Again, unfortunately, they were $45 a piece, but they were REALLY nice, german style with very large puter handles. Speaking of the growlers and service...I asked the same bartender if they were counter-filled or filled straight from the tap. She had no idea what I was talking about. When I went back though to later spend some of my winnings on the bit-too-expensive growler, I found out that they were, in fact, counter filled.

Overall, I would say that this is a pretty standard brewpub for the non-enlightened. The beer is pretty good, the food looked great and I would definitely go back.

I wasn't overly impressed with this place. I had one night free to roam around Vegas (sans car) and this was the easiest brewpub to get to. Walking in, the bar is right in front of you, so I grabbed a seat and ordered what turned out to be an above average Amber. The atmosphere, at least on the night I was there, was fairly shitty. The place was pretty empty, yet very smoke-filled (I know, to be expected in Vegas) and very loud, as the DJ had bad 80's music pumping for the 3 people out on the dance floor, who I had the unfortunate pleasure to watch dance on every TV in the place. Give me a sports game, the news, anything but bad dancing that I could watch in person if I walked 50 feet to my left.

The service was run of the mill. Friendly but just sort of running through the motions. I only had one brew as I wanted to try to take in as much of Vegas as I could in my limited time, but it seemed fresh to me.

As far as the selection, I think there were 5 or 6 brews on during my visit, and they were all basics/what you'd expect in a brewpub: stout, ale, light, amber, seasonal, etc.

In the end, I'd go back to this place if not for convenience alone, but am curious as to what few of their other brews taste like. I can't say I can recommend this place by any means, but it's worth a visit. At the very least, order a brew and wander around the rest of the casino while enjoying it.

The Monte Carlo Bar & Brewery is located down one of the many mall-like alleys that branch out from the main casino on Las Vegas Blvd. There is a small gift shop right outside where one can buy any manner of Monte Carlo brewpub trinkets.

The bar is immediately past the host stand and is fairly long. The rest of the space is devoted to bar-type seating. There are plenty of TVs in the large dining area. The brew works are viewable both from inside and out, which is pretty cool. You can see the small-scale bottling process as you walk by.

The beer selection is fair. There are 5 beers, plus one seasonal, in rotation. A sampler of the 5 beers runs $7.95. Some of their beers are also available in bottles at the brewpub and around town. All of the beers are simply average quality, but they do a pretty good job of promotion. We were scratching our heads at the whole "giraffe" thing though.

The service was decent. The bartender was pleasant and asked if I wanted a sample of the Octoberfest to go with the beers that come in the normal sampler and did not charge me for it.

We did not try the food on this visit.

Overall I am happy I stopped by here, having only had the bottled version of their beers before. While not high in quality, it is fairly evident that they take the brewpub seriously and do not treat it as some casino gimmick.

Ok Beer, great food, absolutely terrible service.
The first try at this place was mixed. It was pretty early in the day, so even though the place was empty (a total of 5 people there) we didnt complain when it took 10 minutes to order the first drink from a ridculously rude server.
The first and second beers I had were pretty uninspired with a lack of body.
Figured we'd give the place another go around later in the week. It was pretty much the same as before. That said, the food was incredible. Of course, if I wanted great food, mediocre beer and terrible service, there are plenty of other places that could fill my need.
I think with better management, this place could be something great. As it stand now though, I wouldnt exactly go out of my way to visit there.

I was able to talk my whole crowd into making this our very first stop in Vegas. It helped that we stayed at the Monte Carlo and we were hungry, but there were lots of places to stop into before the gambling and swimming.

First...our service...was...extreme...ly...slow...
at the table. We stopped in around noon when there was six other tables inside tops. Our server had three of them and no help from other servers, bus boys, or management. She was nice, but had no clue about the beer. Getting the beers took forever and placing the order and getting another round was painful. I had friends later drink at the bar and apparently the service was like night and day.

The place is nice. The focus on the tanks is the first thing you see. Followed by gimmic "girraffes" of beer that no one seemed to be ordering. Ceilings were gigantic and pipes of all sorts (electric, water, copper) twisted all around. Think of an 80's batman movie set. It always seemed dark inside, even when it was bright, sunny, and 90 outside.

The selection was kept to the brewery beers or macros. Food was average.

This is a very large restaurant/bar that I thought might have the food/restaurant area overshadowing the beer. I was wrong. When you walk in, they have the bar in front with theserving tanks visible behind the bar. Good start. The bartender was very pleasant and helpful when it came to ordering. Though I usually have the sampler, it was too much for me to do given my busy agenda and the fact that each sample glass was 6 ounces and they had 6 beers on tap. But I was impressed.
As always, I looked for the dark beer and when I sipped the stout that I chose, I was very happy. It was all that a stout should be. Creamy and rich, chocolatey with hints of coffee and a great aftertaste. If this beer is any indication of the rest, I will make sure to put aside more time for this brewpub.

This was a fun place to unwind from the clang clang of money. It is towards the back of the Monte Carlo casino, before entering you walk down a nice cobblestone street, very cool. The brewery itself is very old school, almost old fire station looking. A huge bar wrap around one end while seating is in the main area. The tanks are available to see through glass, sitting at the bar you get great service and are up close to the multi tv's, great place to catch a game. While the beer had ups and downs it was still respectable, the Kolsch and stout were delicious. I ordered a brick oven pizza and was pretty good, we ordered nachos that we returned because cheese was so melted it was hard. Still great place and right on the strip, good place to get away, beer is a tad steep but good for Vegas standards.

This was a solid place to get a good brew on my recent trip to Vegas. It is located in the back of the Monte Carlo casino which was just a block or so away from where I was staying so it was within stumbling distance for sure. The setting reminded me of an old warehouse turned bar and was pretty cool. The tanks and other brewing apparatus were available to see through the windows on the side of the brewery. The service was prompt and friendly, and the beers were pretty good as well. The stout stood out though, it was quite tasty and reminded me of a tastier version of Guinness. All in all this was a cool little place to visit to break up the string of free mixed drinks I was getting in the casinos.

Good, but not memorable. Kind of seems like the hotel was trying to bring in people who were interested in microbrewed beer. Cool warehouse like architecture with showy copper ductwork all over the place and a huge bar. They also served their beer in large 4liter dispensing units called giraffes, but I couldn't convince my wife to order one with me. The food was good pub grub style, cheap, subsidized by gambling. I had a great bleu cheese melted NY strip sandwich. The beer was typically bland and approachable, no extreme hoppiness of maltiness. Service was good.
The best part: on the strip and not a slot machine in sight, a good place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of Vegas for pretty cheap.

Love shack, baby love shack, love shack, baby love shack, love shack, baby love shack, love shack, baby love shack...
I could hear it first very faintly doing it's own thing in my head. It didn't mean anything, it didn't sound like anything, it wasn't anything. Then your head kind of puts together what it is, like when you find a tune in your head that's got no business being there. You weren't thinking of it, it's just there. And then it wasn't in my head anymore, it was out there somewhere and I could hear it. And I'm wandering through the casino this way and that following the music, it's getting louder, I'm getting closer. Down these hallways away from the main casino in what's like a mini strip of mall stores lies the brewpub, cleverly concealed but I found it anyway.
As you look the length of the place from the entrance, you see the large screen TV's showing music videos. It's the B-52's doing Love Shack. Wait, no it's not. It's the band that's playing there on stage doing the B-52's Love Shack. Their performance on all the TV's in the room. A very large cavernous room, a mixed club scene with garage door type windows to the front. High ceilings with an industrial feel, large exposed duct piping and fans. Near the entrance, it's just a narrow bar area but halfway down the long copper railed bar which snakes it's way practically the length of the place, it bends and curves twice and the room opens up. Seating for roughly 3 dozen. Beyond that, there's a separated smaller bar running the back wall which seats about a dozen. 6 towers collectively between the 2 bars. Tables littering the floor space everywhere. Kind of clubby decor overall although there's an out of place old grain mill in the entrance way and the large room behind the bar with upwards of a dozen bright copper kettles visible through the glass wall. There's an upstairs. I know there is. I can see it from down here, the downstairs. Looks to be additional seating but who can say?
Beer. Yeah, they do that. 5 regulars, a seasonal and a root beer. Yep, did the sampler. The Las Vegas Lite was just that, the Jackpot Ale was a light copper colored, nicely hopped IPA, the Silver State Stout was described as an Irish Style Stout but I found there to be a pleasant Oatmeal Stout flavor to it, the High Roller Red was a full bodied amber with a nice caramel/toffee sweetness to it, the Winner's Wheat was a hazy unfiltered pale yellow wheat, a little too light on flavor for my liking, and the seasonal, a Scotch Ale was way too sweet, almost syrupy. Beers are served in pint or litre glasses. They do growlers to go and you can also buy the beers bottled in the little gift shop store up front, which has a most extensive selection of glassware (a wide variety of steins, glasses and mugs) and the usual shirts, hats, etc. Decent beers overall, service was polite and attentative. I'd hit it again if I were in Vegas.

I have been to the Monte Carlo Brewery on 2 different occaisions several months apart. I was totally unimpressed both times.
The IPA does not taste like an IPA or even a good pale.
The beers had a little buttery diacetyl taste. I think they may have a sanitation problem. It just had an off flavor. I tried 2 or 3 beers none of which were really acceptable to be serving. What happened to taking pride in your brew?
I won't bother going back and risk another disappointment.
I would highly recommend trying the Main Street Station instead and get a real nice Pale Ale or a great Porter.

I had lunch here not to long ago, and paired a sandwich up with their 5 beer sampler. The place was ok, and I am glad there is a brewpub to visit on the strip, but other than that, I can't say much for it.

Atmosphere: Post modern industrial feel that made me want to leave as soon as possible. Noisy, uncomfortable chairs/stools, crowded, did not like it. I guess it's their way of trying to turn customers over.

Quality & Selection: The beer was decent, but I have much better. Of the 5 I tried (I didn't write them down at the time), the only one I remember fondly was the stout. It was a very nice creamy taste that I was ready for more, but I couldn't stand the atmosphere- time to move on.

Service and food were fine- nothing special. Being that it was on the strip, prices for everything were inflated.

Would I go back? Sure.
Would I go out of my way to go back? Nope.

It is certainly great to have a brewpub on the strip, even if it is an average brewpub.

The decor is schizophrenic. This place does not know what it wants to be. Brick walls, next to sheet metal walls. At the front entrance there are sheet metal silos giving the place the feel of a mill. The brewing equipment is behind glass near the entrance. This place is huge and the bar is long and snakes around the back wall. A large screen t.v. hangs in the back and there are plenty of t.v.s scattered around the pub. Ducts, pipes and lighting rigging are exposed and are part of the decor. At night the pub turns in to a dance club. Perhaps this is why the place has a combonation night club and mill atmosphere to it. So it can be both.

There is a full bar and the food is okay. We only had a couple of appetizers. They were fine. Nothing special and no complaints.

The service was quick and friendly. Our waitress was cheerful and attentive. On a second visit in the evening we had a bartender who was also very friendly. A very on the ball staff was working when we were there.

The beers are good. I thought the stout was fine but nothing special. The Red is their best made beer in my opinion. The Pale? I have no idea what is going on with this beer. It says it is an IPA on the menu. It tasted nothing like an IPA to me. Their light beer is one that could be drunk all day. Overall the beers are good. Just not great. They also have a rotating tap. They had a porter on it but I never got around to trying it. They carry some macros in bottles for people unwilling to deviate from the usual and try something new.

Instead of pitchers they have these long tubes with a spout on the bottom if you are there with a group and are all drinking the same beer. They hold quite a lot of beer and the waitresses do not need to keep refreshing the pitchers. If the beer does not warm too quickly in them then this is a good idea.

Overall this is a credible place. I would not make a special trip to visit this pub if I was staying in a hotel on the other end of the strip, but if you are in the area or are staying at the Monte Carlo I would give it a try.

Note: We stayed at the Monte Carlo and had a good time there. A very well run hotel and not as crowded as places like the New York New York. Also, when the pub turns in to a dance club at night there is a cover charge. If you are staying at the Monte Carlo, show your room key and you won't have to pay the cover charge.

So you want to have a brewpub on the Vegas Strip? Since the demise of the Holy Cow (*sniff*) This has been one of the few options in the area.

Absolutely giant size portion of the casino is devoted to this space. The place feels like a cross between a factory and a hollywood movie set of a factory. Lots of big projection screens and a long bar

5 beers, all of them terribly average and un-impressive. Separate checks required at the bar for beer and food. Service flucuates with the size of the crowd, but it's never been terribly impressive to me.

Vegas is one of the few big towns here in this country that can rival Los Angeles for "crappy beer" town. This place exemplifies why. Save your money for the slots, you get a better return or go to one of the better beer establishments in town.

Very unimpressive brewpub. Very industrial feeling place, bar is nice and comfortable and the place is very big. Service was crap. Bartenders had no idea about any the beers and overall experience was not positive. The food was served pretty quickly but was below your average brewpub fare. They have tried to create a brewpub atmosphere but really this is just another hotel bar that happens to have beer brewed in it. Really ashame because the equipment is first right and if a really brewer and beer lover got a hold of it, there is no doubt it could turn out some good beers. Don't waste your time or money. I wouldnt go again even if I walkd by the place.

This is a place that has not improved (maybe even gotten worse)over the years I have been going there. I don't make the effort to visit this place as there are better brewpubs in Vegas (Chicago, Tenaya Creek, Triple 7), but since I was in the Monte Carlo casino I figured I would try again.

I did not try any food. I sat at the long bar that had 50 stools. 15 TVs are hanging all over the cavernous warehouse of this brewpub. A stage for live music is at one end of the restaurant. The place is loud as the floor is concrete and there is little to absorb the sound. Plenty of tables for dining. Plenty of people drinking Bud around me. And don't forget the 3 foot long 64 oz (?) plastic tubes with a small tap handle at the bottom to impress your friends to drink your beer from.

The beer continues to be a disappointment. Most are average and seemed to be geared for the general public. They had 5 beers that are always there and 1 special brew. The basic 5 are Lite, Pale, Stout, Red, and a Wheat. The Bock was the special brew. The lite is horribly bland, with the stout being the best offering.

The service was unimpressive. The bartender asked for my order, and when I asked for the sampler minus the Lite, he said "oh you like heavy beers". I asked what he meant, and he said the Lite is one of their best sellers and since he was older the "dark" beers weighed him down. Someone sat down next to me and when asked to describe the beers he said "the Lite is closest to Bud (which it is) and the Red is like Killians. The others are heavy beers like Guiness".

Don't waste your time walking to this place unless you are in the casino.

If you're really dying to visit a brewpub in Vegas, you could do worse than the Monte Carlo. But the beer is mediocre at best...and the food is just average for brewpub grub. I imagine they get a lot of tourists who've never visited a decent brewpub that walk away thinking this place is great, but all you hardcore BA members are not going to be impressed.

If you do find yourself on the south end of the Strip with some time to kill, it wouldn't hurt to drop in here and have a pint. But don't get your expectations up, or you'll be sorely disappointed.

Located in the Monte Carlo casino, the Brewpub is a nice stop as you're casino hopping on the strip. The restaurant and bar are large, and spacious, with TV's surrounding the place. There is a stage upfront, which likely hosts bands or dance parties. I only bought one of their beers, and it was awful... the Silver State Stout, but based off of some other reviews, I might have sampled an off batch. They do have bottled beers available as well, and have a rotating special selection... when I was there, it was their Dark Wheat, which according to their bartender, "tastes like shit... if you want a wheat, get the Winner's Wheat."
