Thanks to anniesak for bringing this one back from her Tanzanian trip.

A: The lagerbier is a stark pale color, lighter than straw but darker than, well, water? Seriously, the light yellow color barely registers. A finger of white foam on pour was fast to disappear.

S: The nose is lacking, a generally inoffensive brew that shows off some rice and cereal. A mild sweetness peps things up.

T: The lager has a sweet malt undertone, strong enough to peak through the bland cereal from time to time. Cereal grains dominate but share the stage with corn and rice flavors. A decent drink that is the exact opposite of extreme.

M: The mouthfeel is painfully bland, punctuated by points of sweet grain. The aftertaste has a distinct corn syrup flavor.

D: I could drink this all day long but I really wouldn't want to.

A: Pours from a 12 oz bottle a clear pale yellow with a one-inch thick ivory white which fades to the rim and a thin cap leaving clumpy lace.

N: Barley, malts, grainy, yeast, biscuits, faint lemony citrus.

T: Crisp, slightly skunked corn, malty, earthy and rather bland.

M: Light body and semi-medium carbonation. Semi-dry and clean finish.

O: Just another adjunct lager (JAAL), this time from Africa.

Appearance - Pours a straw gold with a finger of bubbly head that quickly recedes.

Smell - sweet malts, corn adjuncts, grains, apple.

Taste - Pretty much similar to the aromas. A very standard American adjunct.

Mouthfeel - Light to medium bodied with light to moderate carbonation. Finishes dry and and sweet malts linger.

Overall - A simple easy drinking American adjunct. Nothing really stands out here from other American adjuncts. This brew would be good after doing some yardwork.

Bottle purchased at Beers of the World in Henrietta, NY. First beer drank from Africa!

Pours an effervescent, fizzy, golden yellow, classic adjunct lager look. A big 2.5 inch fizzy head forms.

Doesn't smell like a whole lot, smells like sweet grain, with a bit of corniness, and the slightest bit of grassiness.

Nice little bite up front, a kiss of hops, but the bite mostly comes from the carbonation. Finishes a bit sweet and corny. For an adjunct lager, this isn't half bad, honestly. I'd get it again.

Light bodied, slightly thicker body than typical for the style. High carbonation, very refreshing and drinkable.

I'm surprised at how tasty this was.

A: Straw gold filtered with a moderate to low number of large bubbled carbonation, a finger of white head.

S: Canned peas, offal, malt, yeast, like a good old lager beer from the west but done in Africa, with a cool elephant on the label to boot.

T: Malt, yeast, offal, canned peas, but balanced, smooth, well done for this style.

M: Light body, medium carbonation. Dry finish.

O: Great for an African beer. Again, cool bottle and label, and unique coming from Africa. This was my first beer ever at the University of Guelph years ago. Nice to have found it again today in Port Perry, ON.
