This Belgian-style dark wit was conceived and brewed by our Executive Chef, Jeff Lang, in honor of 5 years of loyal service. A wheat beer brewed with coriander and Curacao orange, fermented with our house Belgian strain of yeast. We are intentionally allowing this beer to drop to bright and reveal it’s beautiful color as time goes by.

Off the tap at their fifth anniversary event this brew was a nearly opaque, wood-stain brown with a mahogany meniscus. The head was a finger of tan foam that retained well as a rocky cap at first that eventually became a skim that left good lacing. The aroma was subtle, mostly musty malt with some dry wheat notes. The flavors were semis-sweet, roasted malt, caramel and toffee-like malt, brown sugar and chocolate with a dry and grainy background. Very dark and sweet for a witbier! The mouthfeel was very smooth but slightly watery, the body medium, the carbonation soft. Highly sessionable and an unusual but appreciated spin on a classic style.

Served in a pint glass at the brewery at the 5th anniversary party.
This is a Belgian dark witbier brewed by the brewerys chef Jeff. Pours a cloudy dark brown with a one finger off white head with solid retention. Sweet orange citrus aromas mix with banana, cloves, and corriander. Up front flavor of banana/clove leads to curaco/corriander in the middle with some vanilla in the finish. Light carbonation, medium body there is clean flavors, very smooth and easy drinking.

Color: pours a dark cloudy brown color with a bountiful head.
Aroma: hints of coriander and curacao stand out here.
Taste: nice and spicy with curacao, coriander and even a bit of cocoa stqand out in this beer.
Mouthfeel: smooth yet refreshing with coriander and curacao standing out the most.
Very good take on a witbier. I would drink it again.
