I'm a' keep giving props to the selection, but good god is this place awful when it comes to stocking and selling stale beer. I've been here twice, and each time I've bought at least one bottle of a beer that hasn't been produced in over two years. They rub out and tear off expiry dates, too.
If you were to ask me about this neighborhood, how it was, I'd think for a second and say "it's quaint." Only I'd say so with a look on my face that made you know that by quaint I meant kinda dodgy, only not in a way that was dangerous so much as it was just unpleasantly weird. A guy wearing a really nice pair of shoes and slacks asked me for a dollar when I went in. He wasn't homeless, obviously. Just wanted a dollar.
All the beers can be bought in singles. That's wonderful. Most of the domestic are really reasonably priced, too, but only a handful are kept cold.
This is the widest range of Belgians I've seen in this state. It's actually the only range of Belgians I've seen in this state. Not as big as John's or Discount Liquors in Milwaukee, but probably the biggest I've ever seen after those two. The thing is, though, that *none* of the Belgians are priced! You have to take each one up to the counter to see how much it costs, and then their computer system is run on an old Coleco ADAM, I guess, so it takes them a full minute to find each price. So fuck. Don't shop there if you're on any kind of budget, I guess.
There was a good selection of domestic rares and one-off's, and like I said the Belgian selection was good, if flawed. The staff was kind of surly, but I guess that's excusable since the Belgian dilemma is an even bigger pain for them than it is for the customers.

I've been to this store many times. From the outside, it looks like a typical liquor store but the inside tells a different story! While cluttered and difficult to navigate, the store boasts one of the largest selections of craft beers I've seen. The staff is very knowledgeable and quite helpful. They're great about taking your personal information and contacting you if/when a particular beer you've been searching for arrives in their store. They also offer beer and wine tasting sessions throughout the year.
