Pours a pale yellow-orange with an aggressive white head. There's a fair bit of sediment in the bottle, so clarity depends on your bottle handling. Choose your own adventure. The head is enormous. It's a touch fizzy, but it takes awhile for the bubbles to die down. The aroma is full of fresh grain and earthy saison yeast. Apricots, dough, mushrooms, a little floral/herbal hops. Wet barnyard. The taste starts with a touch of fresh grain sweetness, sugarcane and dough. Then, the beer dries out quite a bit, and things finish with a sour twang. Lemons, light herbal hop bitterness. Lots of tart, under-ripe stone fruit. Very refreshing. Wonderful interplay of grain and yeast. Mouthfeel starts out very light and effervescent. The carbonation is prickly. Crisp. Once the gas dies down, there's a bit more grain fullness, but this is still a light-bodied beer. This would be excellent on a hot day. It's light and refreshing with a flavor that keeps the palate wanting more. It's a shame this beer doesn't get more attention.

Pours a slightly hazy amber with huge billowing white head, big dollop remains, glass streaked in chunky lace. Smell: white grape, apricot, doughy, lightly spicy and sweet... grainy but then an unexpected pina colada note. Taste: bready, white grapes, nectarine, orange citrus notes towards the finish. Light-medium bodied, pillow carb, attenuation just right. Yeah, this is well done. Thank goodness for the cage in 'corked and caged', also this one was a delayed pipe-snake foamer.

Big thanks to hoppypocket for sending this our way in a great trade.

A: Pours a slightly cloudy pale wheat with tight white head and plenty of lacing.

S: Bright lemons with light yeasty bread and a slight dankness. Hints of dried wood or sawdust in the background.

T: Upfront notes of tart lemons along with yeasty bread, white pepper and mineral notes.

M: Light bodied with active carbonation and a drying finish.

O: A refreshing and light saison that paired perfectly with sushi.

Picked up this bottle as a comparaison avec La Vermontoise

At first pop of the cork, I can already tell that this is a less "dank" version of La Vermontoise. However, this beer should not be viewed as a lesser Vermontoise, it is still equally powerful. The beer pours beautiful gold with a cumulonimbus head and still smells of "dank". What is dank you might ask? It is spelt, belgian yeast, some hop body, but mostly the odeur pénible that is marijuana. This beer tastes like a perfect Belgian saison that wipes the sweat off your brow when the temps get above 70˚ and there is NOT a blizzard dumping over 12" of snow in March happening outside. The mouthfeel is balanced just as well as the taste, well carbonated, sweet, crisp, and Belgian. Overall, La Vermontoise still remains my favorite Saison of all time, however, this is extremely under-rated and much easier to access (for me at least). Very solid representation

Bottle. Blond pour with thick white foamy head. Aroma of belgian yeast, cereal, wheat (epeautre), relatively plain. Taste is your regular yeasty Blaugies saison with a more pronunced sweetness. A very good. easy drinking, not filling, neutral beer that goes well with any dish. Another lovely saison by Blaugies
