Bottle: Poured a clear amber color ale with a medium foamy head with OK retention. Aroma of light caramelized malt with dry cereal notes with light spongy hoppy notes. Taste is also a mix of dry caramelized malt with light metallic hoppy notes. Body is about average with OK carbonation. Not sure what the brewer was aiming for the results are slightly below average.

500 mL bottle from supermarket in Lyngby, Denmark, poured into a pint glass
A 5 fingers of fine golden head sitting on a clear, deeply red body. The bubbles shrink to 2 fingers in a minute and then settle to smooth layer hugging the glass.
S Dark toffee and molasses malt smells with some pleasant spicy, gingery hops. A hint of phenol that blends nicely with the malt.
T Warm sweet malts, like Malteasers, with building dark toffee taste and toasty notes at the end. A really rich but mellow and well balanced malt taste. The bittering hops are perfunctory and the finish is clean. I wouldn’t guess the ABV.
M Medium carbonation and smooth, with a bit of oiliness that hugs the tongue. It works great with the luxurious malt.
Overall: Drinkable from the first sip and the malts taste nicer ever time you pick up the glass. One of my favourites of the style so far.

Pours copper with a large, lasting head.
Nose shows rich malt, lots of brown sugar and golden syrup along with some spices hinting at cinnamon.
Very similar flavours but with some added toasty and nutty malt and resinous hops. Finishes with a mild, metallic bitterness.
Carbonation is a bit over the top.

I dont think this brew is retired as i only bought it yesterday anyway it pours a nice cherry red hue with decent carbonation that leaves behind a creamy two finger head and heaps of lacing everywhere, the aroma is quite sweet with hints of rosewater, bready malts and some tropical punch too,it has a nice medium bodied well carbonated mouthfeel and has tastes of bready malts, passionfruit, apricots and finishes with a nice hoppy bitterness and overall its a nice brew that is very easy to drink without being too complex.

Copper red with a complex malty aroma. Large head of light-brown colour. Tastes hoppy, with a strong presence of roasted malty flavours. Fruity, well balanced aftertaste with gentle bitter tones dancing across the tongue.
Best I've had from Nörrebro so far. Gift from H. Zehler, thank you!

Ravnsborg Rød on tap was one of the first beers I reviewed as BA member and consequnently the review was pretty meagre. Compared to the tap version served at Nørrebro Bryghus, one of the best brewpubs in Copenhagen, the bottle version tasted a little bleak. In weden Systembolaget stores are asking SEK 49 for a 600 cl bottle which is very steep and definately not worth the price. It poured in a good copper brownish colour with quicly disappearing foam but perhaps it was a little too cold. The smell was smokey with a pinch of tar, ginger sweet, citric, flowery and fruity. The taste was bitter with a hint of chloride (from cleaning the pipes?) and caramel. Considering the price your beer money can be spent better in Sweden but then there aren't that many American ambers around in Sweden.

Received 600ml bottle as a gift from our Danish exchange student - thanks VERY MUCH, Malou!
Pours with a nice amber color, no cloudiness noted. Nice fluffy head falls down with decent lacing.
Wonderful aroma, citrus hops, the use of Amarillo shines through.
Flavor is nicely balanced, somewhat dominated by the hops, but with a full, round mouthfeel. Nice prickly carbonation. Finish is good malt with a touch of sweetness, but the hops are still the main story.
All in all, an very nice beer, and one that I'm glad to have had the chance to try!

600 ml brown bottle, a gift from Tom, thanks! Redddish brown colour, relatively pale, slightly hazy. Large and creamy lingering head. Pleasant aroma with notes of red fruits, malts and oak, hints of leather and caramel. Flavour is reasonably malty with some sourish fruity notes, mouthfeel is maybe a tad too thin, moderate hops in the finish / aftertaste.

The colour is deep amber; the liquid is somewhat hazy. The very high head is pale beige, airy and it leaves lots of lacing.
The smell is hoppy. There are notes of citric fruits, bitter hops, sweet bread, dried fruits and butter. Very nice.
The taste is hoppy, American micro style. The dry bitter flavours of grapefruits and butter is balanced with creamy somewhat roasted malt. The long aftertaste got fruity and roasted notes with a fairly metallic bitterness and some sweet notes.
The carbonation is s little bit stronger than most ales, the bubbles are many and small. Very fresh on a hot summer day, but maybe not that good on a cold winter night.
A well crafted beer in a style that you dont find too often in Europe.

The Ravnsborg Rød was recommended to me by the bartender as being by far their most popular beer and I can see why. With it's smooth mouthfeel and mild flavor, it can easily turn into a session beer or a routine order. The beer had a nice hoppiness that tasted and smelled of Cascades. Sweet malt and a little nuttiness fought for dominance in my mouth with the caramel winning in the aroma arena. I would definitely try a glass while you are there.
