Rated this pretty neutrally across the board as I drank it about 5 years past the "drink by" date and it was flat. Despite the effects that had on the look and mouthfeel, it still tasted very fruity and just like what I'd expect to be drinking at a cafe in Brussels. Really nice lambic.

375 ml corked & caged green bottle, from the Norwegian importer. ABV is 5.0%. Beautiful deep red colour, moderate pink head. Strong and lovely aroma of ripe raspberries, a hint of cherry kernels. Fairly dry flavour, not very sour, raspberries of course, but not overwhelming. The finish is a bit "empty".

Roughly 5 years old at time of consumption - (4 year best by date of 10/27/2018).

Pours a dark ruby color, completely clear. Thin off-white head dissipates quickly leaving just a thin ring of slight off white bubbles along the outside of the top of the beer.

Aroma is initially just a lovely bouquet of rich ripe tart raspberries. As your nose adjusts you get more of the underlying lambs coming through. Notes of barnyard funk, a touch of oak and some bright earthy notes.

Taste is much more balanced than the nose would imply. Light gentle notes of raspberry cascades across the palate with some slight funky tartness, hints of wheat and oak coming through. Not overly tart, but does become rather acidic as you consume the beer. Not sweet per se, but there is a touch of sweetness that cuts the acidity.

Feel is smooth, slighty tart - just enough to proceed a pucker on the palate. Prickly carbonation. Finish is abrupt and pretty dry.

Overall a really nice solid fruited lambic. This is admittedly an aged bottle, so Im not sure how it compares to it fresh, but this bottle was really nice.
