Bottle, best before 2025. Poured into Cantillon gueze glass.
Cork popped out violently, almost flew out of my hand.
Poured lightly hazy gold/amber with orange highlights.
Head is fizzy, almost soda-like. but sticks around and leaves a thin lace on top. Carbonation is lively, with bubbles cascading up the whole time.
Smell is citrusy, with a sharp lemon like aroma and a sour funk. Lightly fruity, candied peaches and apricots.
Flavor is lightly sweet, with more of an apricot flavor, and just a light acidity and funkiness. Sourness hits the back of the tongue but is not overpowering at all. Sweet lemons and orange flavors come through more as I sip. Some soft wheat malt flavors shine through as well.
Incredibly easy to drink for a lambic. The sourness and funkiness is so well balanced with the fruitiness of this beer.
