Poured into a stange which lead to an enormous head. Patience required to finished the pour. The head was a mix of small to medium bubbles. Dark yellow with some staining from the sediment when I accidentally allowed some to escape the bottle. Label says this beer was good until March 10, 2028.

Initially the beer had a strong barnyard smell. But as it settled down, the nose was reduced to a more chalky earthy odor. If that earlier smell remained, this would have scored higher.

Taste is dryer than a longhorn skull in a Texas desert. A slight hint of tartness reminds you that it is a lambic and not a crisp oddly flavored wine. I wish either the dryness or the tartness lingered a bit longer.

Mouthfeel was limited to the tongue and palate, clearly caused by the arid nature of the drink. However, the impact on the tongue and palate is sizable. Bubbles tingle wherever touched, making for an interesting experience where the remainder of your mouth wishes the bottle had been a 750ml.

This is drinkable. The 6% is hardly noticeable. If you like beers that lack noticeable sweetness and are sans hops, if you are thirsty or being forced to eat from a relish tray during a football game, then give a couple of these a chance.

375ml bottle poured into an Omer Blond tulip glass. Best before 2034.

A: Pours a rocky and huge three fingers of sudsy off white head. Light gold/orange body with a steady stream of bubbles coming from the bottom of the glass. Head retention for days.

S: Up front an almost toasted oak note before jumping into all sorts of funky farmhouse, burned rubber/mineral, stinky cheese, lemon juice and over ripened fruit smells.

T: Oaky start before leading into apple vinegar, rotting fruit, horse blanket, a heavy lactic acid and an lemon juice sourness. There's a unique mineral and bitter character that sticks out as well. Nice wheat cracker finish.

Mf: Light body with a very prickly carbonation that really brings out the acidity in the beer. Once you adjust thought it's highly drinkable and even thirst quenching.

Overall: A great interpretation of an authentic geuze. Lots of weird funky and sour flavors that set it apart from the American sour ales. Recommended and easy to find.
