Bottle, in the Julius glass.
Poured a big, fluggy head. Very long lasting. The beer is a beautiful golden orange color.
It was quite bubbly with a nice start but quite a bitter finish. Overall, I was not impressed. There are certainly better beers in this style.

Bottle, at RBESG 2007 in Glasgow, Grand Tasting. Golden colour, large head. Malty, oaky and vinous aroma. Malty sweet flavour, sugary, alcoholic. Could have been better.

L- Quite pale amber, slightly hazy, pours with 3mm white head, over time recedes to lacing.
S- A sense (or scent) of... spicy timber.
T- Nice, spicy + timber continue but now with aromatic notes and a hoppy bright facet, and the ABV gently makes it's presence known with a light zing on the palate. Overall it's well balanced, quite pungent but 'bright' enough to bring balance.
F- Bright, and meaty as in a hefty body that is slightly on the richer+dryer side than anything sweet going on here at all.
O- I like it, all the above comes together with a lovely balance. I sense zero out of place/balance. This is a hefty beer with a brighter palate than say your typical same-ABV Tripel, meaning I'd be happy to drink year around whereas an 8.5% Tripel is a wintertime beer for me.

20 meses pasada de fecha. De belgiuminabox. En copa Teku. Viendo La Materia Oscura 1x01. Correcta pero sin llegar a destacar. Perfil tipicamente belga pero bastante suave, nada cabezona

From my notes of some years ago:
Yellow-orange colour, with a big head that last all the while. Aroma is fruity and spice, notes of coriander. Medium to full body, good carbonation. Taste is spicy, oranges, tart notes.

Cloudy gold poured into chalice, soft carbonation feeds silky head. Some sticky lacing remains on sides of glass. Strong fruity flavor with some alcohol burn. Aroma also belies the high alcohol content. Perfect for sipping on a Sunday afternoon.

Bruised peach, a sort of yellowish brown orange colour, so cloudy its hard to see the carbonation. A half finger of off white buttery head.
Fruity like peaches, caramel, a slightly smokey, woody component.
Fruity again like peaches, caramel, a sort of light almost flat or watery component in the middle. Very little bitterness.
Thick body, lots of carbonation.
Found in Vientiane, Laos, at Chokdee for a huge price. Really not awesome, but a fair brew. Was just glad to find a new one way out in the middle of nowhere. Drank in Chiang Mai, Aug 31st, 2015.
