Dark beer. Bourbon style barreled beer. I'm not huge on these beers but this is a good one... Hits you right away. Well brewed. Strong at 10% alcohol. Coffee type taste to go with it. Again this beer is strong. It will put some hair on your chest. As far as the brewery itself. Nice location.. I had this beer outside while eating some fresh seafood.

On-tap 3/30/2014 at Doherty’s East Ave Irish Pub, in Pawtucket, RI served in a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a deep black color, with a large light brown head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is faint but contains roasted malts, milk chocolate and a touch of hops.

T: The taste starts out very creamy with sweet flavors of milk chocolate and coffee. Then a hearty but thin for the style roasted malt character comes in. The hops presence is mild but complementary and brings some balance. The after-taste is bitter-sweet.

M: A little crisp and a little smooth but a bit watery, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is dry and slightly sticky.

O: A little tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, strong kick, decent representation of style, it’s just another mediocre Cape Ann beer. There are certainly several other beers within the style that are better.
