A: A light 1/2 finger head rises and fades quickly with a few bubbles rising from the etch in teh bottom of my SA perfect pint glass. A clear dark roasted red with hints of brown.
N: A lot of sweet malty aromas, syrupy as well. It's pretty sweet aroma, with dark malts and wheat. A slight lager aroma also comes out. Some toasty malts. Somewhat like a cross between German Doppelboch and American red ale.
T: Wow, very sweet! Too sweet. It does have a nice caramelized brown sugar flavor with some toasted raisins. Also some dark wheat and dark malts, a little toasty. Hints of earthy and spicy hop character. Mostly the sweet molasses syrup and brown sugar, too much. Some definite lager flavors too, but a slight almost metallic flavor too, probably from lagering at off temps.
M: Semi thick with decent carbonation.
F: FInishes sweet still, with more toasty malts and lots of brown sugar, molasses and syrup lingering. Not as sticky as I thought it would be. A slight roasty porter flavor on the finish too. Hints of bitter spicy earthy hops too.

Boston Beer Summit. From a 16oz. can. Poured a dark caramel color. Smelled of dark fruits and yeast scents. Caramel. Flavor was more of the same. It's combination of yeast, caramel and fruit with an almost spicy flavor is pleasant. Would like to take in a whole can. Fuller, thicker bodied. Not enough of this style in the market so I welcome Doppelbocks whenever I can get them.
