Pours a deep rich amber though the head is almost nonexistent and gone quickly. A nice nose with prominant Dark fruit, and tobacco. The taste dlivers figgy and strong without alotof alcohol to warn of the strength. It feels heavy of the toungue a little too sugary and thick to drink alnight but you could do alot worse.

Last beer of the evening. A sipper. This beer is totally original and interesting. It defies type, and I'd class it a winter warmer - spicy, alcohol, carmel sweetness, fruit.

I didnt find it overdone, but it's sweet and rich and full bodied.

A: Hazed walnut body with fast fade head and some sticky lace.
S: Wanted more of it, but it's caramel malt on a baked apple. Apple on a stick.
T: A bit of nutmeg, but not overwhelming, atop a broad base of caramel, one of the most caramel beers I have ever had. prune/dark fruit/ ripe apple / cider. Nice long finish, not cloying.
MF: love the weight that works well with the sweet and the long almost peppery finish.

An outstanding winter warmer that'd I recommend.

22oz bottle poured into a lager glass.

A: Red-orange in color. Brilliant clarity. Sand colored rocky head leaves lots of clumpy lacing on the glass.

S: Bread, biscuit, thin caramel and treacle, toasted grain. Pinch of cocoa. Fig and golden raisin fruitiness. Clean. Light grassy hop.

T: Thin caramel and treacle. Grainy, toast. Vague fruitiness. Subtle hints of grassy hop. Sweet throughout. Syrupy treacle finish.

M: Thick body, mouth coating and syrupy. Low carbonation. Very mild perception of alcohol.

O: Even for the style this seems a little under attenuated. It comes off a little too sweet and syrupy. A decent stab at the style, but nothing I'd revisit.

Went to the brewery and tried this beer. Light in color and weak in smell. Color a little towards the red side. But the taste was very good. Beer from the tap always tastes much better. I also had the chilli stout which was great. The brew pub had good food and the city had a great port city feel.

12oz bottle into a pilsner glass
no born on date but Ive had this in my fridge for almost a year

A: Pours a crystal clear, really pretty reddish amber with 2plus fingers width of light tan colored head, which dissipates down fairly quickly. Leaves no lacing.

S: Spicy malts and yeast aromas similar to a quad. Theres also a weird raw meat aroma thats pretty off putting. Really odd aroma, and not particularly pleasant.

T: Big malty sweetness , caramel, toffee, and a big nutty character. Even with these pleasant flavors there is something about the taste of this that I find nauseating. It taste like feet, and vomit.

M/D: Medium bodied, low carbonation, slightly syrupy.

O: Ok, so its probably not fair to this beer, cause I think its more the style in general than this one in particular. I just cant drink doppelbocks. Something about them just makes me physically ill. This is only the second drainpour of my life.
