Rescue is an inspired blend designed to revive the taste buds. We’ve unleashed more than a pound of leaf and pellet hops per barrel, lending a clean, crisp finish. Rescue IPA is particularly good with spicy food, especially curry and Mexican flavors. Try it with a sweet dessert like creme brulee.

Flavor: Intense hop flavor with strong grapefruit characteristics
Malts: Pale, Crystal, Victory
Hops: Columbus, Centennial, Cascade
Bitterness Units: 53

The beer pours an amber color with a thick frothy offwhite head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a nice malty scent that boasts of pale and light crystal malts along with a bitter, piney hop aroma. It also has a bit of a musty aroma which I think is a result of their yeast or some sort of bacteria contamination. All in all, it doesn't make much difference. The taste is average. It has a decent malt palate with a "super" hop flavor and aftertaste. It goes down slow with a citrus hop and musty aftertaste that lingers. The mustiness, which wasn't much of a problem in the aroma, detracts considerably in the flavor. Also, the centennial hops are too unstable. The mouthfeel is decent. It is a medium bodied beer with good carbonation. This is an average American IPA. It needs more malts to add body and to balance the hop content a bit more. It has too much of a citrus bite. Also, they need to consider looking in another direction as far as the yeast is concerned. It throws off the whole flavor in a negative way.

Medium caramel color with sweet malt aroma and pine on the nose with a little bit of spicy citrus. Starts with sweet caramel malt up front and stays sweet until 70% through where just a touch of citrus pokes through along with a slow building, agressive, piney bite finish. Medium body with course carbonation pricklies. This is old school IPA right here folks, just like the good 'old days!

Very excited to taste upon first look, but was a little disappointed. Highly carbonated and lacked a distinctive hoppy finish. The taste did not stand up to the rich caramel color of this brew.
