Why settle for a box of chocolates when you can have a pint of Wanderlust? With Wanderlust, you always know what you’re gonna get. This sweet treat is brewed with three pounds of premium chocolate per barrel for a sinfully silky smooth brew. Terrific with smoked meats and soft, creamy cheeses.

Flavor: Very sweet and chocolaty, with hints of coffee. Minimum hop character.
Malts: Pale, Chocolate, Biscuit, Crystal
Hops: Fuggles
Bitterness Units: 12

16 oz can pours a deep dark brown, with a sandy head that rises just shy of 2 fingers. As it retreats I pick up notes of smoke, roasted malt, and dark brown bread notes.
First sip, now that the head has retreated to a few disparate islands of tiny bubbles and a light but solid ring leaving a smattering of lacing. I'm getting lighter smoke, gentle roasted caramel notes that also hint at chocolate with the sweetness tapering off to a nuanced dry mild bitter note. Hints of highly roasted coffee, almost green poke in as well.
Slightly dry and earthy on the finish. The mouthfeel is medium but also feels a bit light and a tad pillowy. Carbonation is there but not pronounced.

Had this on tap at the brewpub. You can defintely tell this is made with chocolate additive. Watery consistency, very faint roast flavor, but the chocolate stands out the most. Not that it's overdone, but in the absence of any other real flavors, the chocolate stands out. Very fine cabonation leads to a sub-par mouthfeel. It paired well with the food, I suppose, but otherwise it was an unimpressive brew.

This beer is listed as retired, but I drank it 3 days ago at the brewery? Anyway, it was delicious. Dark and chocolatey, only a little roasty and not cloyingly sweet although the Hershey's syrup they use is definately the main player. I liked it enough to have another. If you can envision chocolate milk as a beer, this is it.
