This a smaller, local place with a mom and pop fee to it. Its about 1.5 miles from the intersection of routes 30 and 65. Decent selection of most of the good stuff that typically found in the are. For an out of towner, highlights/stuff I was happy to see included: New Holland, Founder, Boulevard,FFF, Upland, New Belgium, G.I., Great Divide and of course Bells.
Brew is to your left as you enter. Booze and wine everywhere else. Friendly gal behind the counter is always a plus. Worth a visit to stock up the better then average selection.

Positives: The prices for FFF products are good, same with Dogfish (while they still were in IN) and Founders. You can find FFF seasonals, and occasional rare beers that are hard to find in Chicago. They also do have a good selection of Bells, Tyranena, and other midwestern breweries. A decent amount of the bombers you can find both on the shelves and in the fridge.
Negatives: I am not sure how fresh their bottles are. Recently I saw a bottle of Maharaja from last year. Also, certain breweries it seems they charge a bit higher than in Chicago. Goose Island and Bells come to mind.
I recommend stopping by this place on your way into the city from Indiana.

Stopped in here on 27 Apr 2011. I was at Wise Guys first, and a distributor there told me to head here for singles, as Wise Guys did not have any.
Somewhat dark and uninviting. Micro selection is to the back left as you walk in. Decent selection, maybe just a bit less than Wise Guys but there was a fair amount of overlap.
Came here specifically for the singles, but their single selection was not very good. They had two or three price point groups of singles, but only about 8-10 offerings in each.
Pricing was reasonable and the selection was not bad but unless I specifically wanted singles, I would choose Wise Guys over Pete's.

This place is great! If you have not been there in a while you should defiantly go back and check it out. The inside of the store has been expanded along with the beer selection. They have a very nice collection of craft beer from around the world and the prices are great! The owners are very helpful as well. I can always count on them to get hard to find beers or order anything I am interested in...and when they get it I always receive a call letting me know. Everyone is very friendly and shopping there is just a good time. I have been to other stores in the area but liquor bucket is the best.

Stopped in while visiting for Dark Lord Day and found some really nice beers. Doesn't look like much from the outside but they had a good selection of Founders(Breakfast Stout,Cerise), Stone(double bastard, vertical epic 8/8/08), Dark Horse, and Three Floyds(Behemoth,Brian Boru). While we were in the manager saw we were filling up some carts and let us sample several Three Floyds brews and a few other cool beers they had open. They were friendly, and while the exterior doesn't look inviting, if you're in the neighborhood definitely stop by.

I stopped by here when taking my girlfriend to work as I wanted to check it out and compare it to Liquor Stop in Highland. First, this place is not as good as liquor stop but they do still have a pretty good selection and can find beers a bit cheaper as they put some on sale without there being anything wrong with them. They had a good selection Bell's, Stone, 3F, some Belgians/Germans (though mostly the easier to find ones like Duvel, Chimay, Weihenstephaner of which they did have a giftset with 5 beers and a Weiss glass for like 15 bucks). I did find some things that I never saw at Liquor stop before such as Rochefort 8 and Two Bros. Cain and Ebel. I was wondering if they happen to hold onto beers longer since they are in a more secluded location and not as good of a store. As for the size of the selection, it was the left hand wall of the store had a shelf running along it, which was devoted to imports/micros. As others noted, the shelves were really close together which didn't give too much room but was good enough to move around
The service was really bad. No one ever asked if I needed help which wasn't that big of a deal because I have found that to be kinda common in liquor stores. However, the lady checking me out was just plain mean to me. I had to pick up some Grey Goose for my girlfriend and I asked the lady to ring up the beer and the vodka separately. The look she gave me you would have thought I had two heads and then she was all sassy with me. Moreover, I asked to get a half pint of Johnny Walker for a friend of mine and she completely forgot to give it to me. Once she realized it, she was rather dismissive and mean about it; her manner was something along the lines of "well, you still want that or what?!". I decided against it because I had enough of being treated rudely especially when I had about 100 bucks worth of beer I was buying. So overall, a pretty good place worth stopping at for the selection and the prices. You might find a few gems here but beware, you may not exactly be treated like a first class citizen when doing it.

i stop by whenever i am in the area. the selections have grown in the past year, for sure, but still lag behind Liquor Stop in Highland. the area where the beers are seems cramped and stacked on top of stacks. if more than one person is looking at things you will be on top of each other. i have seen a few selections i haven't found elsewhere in the area and am impressed with their pricing. i would love to see the place lose an aisle of wine and devote it to the beers. it would increase selection and give people more room to browse/shop. i have been to this place more than a few times and have never been approached by anyone for service of any kind. not that i needed any, but it's always nice to be asked.

This place had a wall of beers, plus a cooler of bombers and stacks of craft beers in cases. Plenty of items to chose from and lots of what they had. Not as huge as some chains, like Friar Tucks but still impressive.
I was impressed that they still had some more unusual beers on display. They had bottles of Stone Vertical on the shelf while other stores hide their last few bottles behind the counter.
The salesperson was very interested in what I liked and offered suggestions of similar items. He spent a good deal of time with me and I was given a discount when I bought cases of items.
This is the cheapest place I've found for Stone Brewery items in 50 miles. Their prices on many items (and not just Stone) were the same as online stores.
I plan to make the 107 mile trip back just to stock up.

It is January of 2007, and if you have not been here since the beginning of the year, make another stop! Their beer selection has dramatically increased. At the end of 2006 there was about a 12 feet wide 5-shelf area of interesting beers. That has doubled or tripled. They are keeping the prices competitive too. I got a bottle of Arrogant Bastard for $3.99! Other stones ranged from 4.29 to 4.79 (vertical epic higher). They have some Thirsty Dog, Left Hand, Bells, 3 floyds, etc, etc.. And many imports too. There is this guy there - Rob - who seems to really know what is going on, and loves to help anybody from the novice to the seasoned without making you feel intimidated. "what do you like?" "...You could try this because it tastes like..." and so forth.

Stopped by here the day of my brother's wedding. Not for the wedding, just for myself. Picked up a whole bunch of Stone offerings I can't find in NC. Lots of bombers and other six packs on the left of this liquor store (definitely not a beer specialty place).
One of the guys who worked there was cool when I showed him a list of bers I was looking for from three Floyds and he explained you just can't et in them in bottles. Once Beer Spy starts running, that will be helpful.
It was awfully crowded for a Saturday at 11 AM.
