Availability: Fall

Notes/Commercial Description:
Brewed using only traditionally floor-malted barley and wheat, along with a blend of crystal and dark chocolate malts to give a warming, rich, full-bodied beer. A choice blend of fuggle and golding hops provides a mellow fruity flavour with a subtle, bitter edge.

Beer bottle (50 cl.) purchased from La cave de l'inattendu, and tasted in 2012.

Appearence : red amber color, with tan foamy head.
Smell : roasted malt aromas.
Taste & mouthfeel : roasted malt flavors, with caramel notes and lightly bitter finish.
Drinkability : a good beer in the English style Extra Strong Bitter.

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a pint glass.

Pours a very dark amber colour with a creamy head and masses of lacing.

Smells very malty, with a hint of chocolate as well as a bit of spice.

Tastes quite spicy and zingy on the tongue, dark malts and rich dark fruits too. A hoppy bitterness and a lingering burnt taste on the finish.

Overall a lovely warming ale. Note: Cwrw Gaeaf is Welsh for Winter Ale.
