A nice little grocery located in Van Wert on 127 between Rt.30 & the R.R. tracks. Plenty of parking along side this easy to find store although they could use a new paint job on the faded sign out front. Inside a complete deli, foods, nice wine area and beer located in two spots. Cold at the rear and shelved along the side. A good selection of imports and U.S. micro's. Granted alittle of everything since space is most likely an issue. Service was great and one on one with plenty of good beer talk. Collins will order you anything he can get. He has a small singles area that allows mixed sixers or just a couple. I made my selections, he rounded-off the total which I thought was small town cool. I found this store through beerfly & i'll sure to fly back for beer as soon as I can.

Cool place for Van Wert. Nice craft brew and wine selection, although due to the place being quite small, browsing can be difficult. I saw Headhunter, Great Lakes, Bells, and quite a few other beers, as well as local wines, and a couple of mead selections.
Didnt try any of the deli food, but it looked pretty good, as did the steaks they had for sale.
Be aware, however, the hours are VERY limited, they closed at 3:00 pm on a summer Saturday.
Interesting place, and I am sure Van Werts best craft beer selection by far.

I was in Van Wert for business and was pleasantly surprised to fine this place. Not only was it a great deli but I was able to score Sierra Nevada Hoptimum before my buddies on the East Coast. They had a good selection of the mid west beers Bells, New Holland, Great Lakes etc. They had a small deli cooler of cold beers and the rest were room temp. Overall any beer geek would be happy with the selection here there's something for everybody. If your passing through it worth the 5 min. to get off the highway and check it out. FYI it's off of RT 30 on Broadway.

This is the best place to shop for craft beer in Van Wert county area. The selection varies from time to time, but every time I go in there, I always leave with something good. He has some Stone, Great Lakes, Bells, Victory, Rogue, Sam Adams, and many imports. It is a smaller shop, so there is only so much beer he can display, but he makes the most of the room he has. You just have to browse a little bit to see everything with the way it is stacked. There is also a big selection of wine. The deli has a great reputation too. Overall it's a very nice little small town shop.

This is a small establishment in Van Wert, OH. They have a variety of foods, wines and beers. A pretty good selection of shelf and cold beers. There is a small selection of singles. They usually have different gift boxes with glasses included. Selection includes varieties from Great Lakes, Samuel Smith, Flying Dog, and other good breweries.
The owners are always there. They are very friendly and helpful. If you don't see what you are looking for, they will help you find something similar. They are very knowlegeable. This is the only place to go in Van Wert for good beer.

Located in an architecturally significant building, (I can't remember why it's significant, but I remember reading about it in a couple of books.) Collins Fine Foods is a little bit of everything. They have a deli and grocery store setup along with gourmet foods, wine and, of course, beer.
The quality is all above average in all products, including the beer. The service, when I've been in is excellent, personable and friendly.
This is a small store in a small town, so the selection is limited. That said, there were some nice beers from Saranac, Red Hook, Salado, Pete's Wicked, Sierra, Sam Adams, Bass, Guiness and several others.
I talked a bit with owner Jim Collins during my visit. He was friendly and knowledgeable and willing to order in what I wanted if he could.
