This is the loveliest location in a cute town that is worth a stop just to wander around the tree-canopied streets. The inside is just being remodeled and is beautiful. We sat outside under the trees and umbrellas on a hot August day and that was really nice. The whole place is quite lovely. A tiny bar faces the brewhouse in a farm outbuilding.

I just had one of the beers, the Kölsch, which was really good. They also had an American wheat, Pilsner, Red Ale, and Rye IPA. Even with the deluxe environment the use the pint shakers, though thinner than most.

The food was excellent, though not cheap. It is, however, not outrageous and worth the price if you're looking for something nicer. There is a nice selection of salads, fancy small plates, seasonal vegetables, pizzas, and the ever-popular burgers with home-made chips. Their salad with really good tomatoes, olives, vegetables, and all kinds of stuff was the best I've had at a brewpub.

Located along the main drag in Calistoga, a definite wine centric location in Napa Valley.

The building seems to date to the early part of the 20th Century, but was unfortunately closed to interior dining and imbibing. It was a beautiful day, so we decided to walk around to the rear of the building to the beautiful outside dining area.

We grabbed two of the three seats found at the tiny bar. There were 3 house beers available along with a broad selection of wine. The beers were average at best.

We didn't have anything to eat, but the food looked to be appetizing. The bartender was friendly and offered some advice on local scenery.

Sampled their Red Ale, Octoberfest, Wheat, Porter and Red IPA. Red Ale was very drinkable. Porter did not have the sweetness I expected and tasted "flat." Wheat was not so good... Octoberfest was so-so. I am not an IPA lover (too bitter unless properly paired), but I was pleasantly surprised by their RIPA. Tons of vanilla scent/flavor and quite floral. Not bitter at all. This was the first red IPA I have tasted, so not certain it met the style, but was a very good brew! John the bartender answered all my dumb questions and was very friendly. I would make a return visit if in the area.

Stopped here for dinner on the first night of vacation, on the recommendation of a tour guide.

We were able to sit outdoors on the patio area, which was nicely landscaped and decorated and pretty much perfect on the warm, mild night we were there. In addition, we were pleasantly surprised to have a jazzy guitarist providing some easy listening in the background of dinner.

The beer selection was a bit lackluster compared to many brewpubs, but this was likely somewhat due to its location in the heart of California wine country (thus, the more extensive wine list). Even so, it was nice to get some quality craft brews after having heard about and tasted so many wines. I had a tasty, mild IPA, which was one of two rotating taps (the other being a Kolsch-style ale).

The menu was certainly consistent with other establishments in this seemingly-tourist-centric town, but there are also a few menu items that won't break the bank.

Overall, I'd say this was a pretty enjoyable little establishment.

A - I didn't go inside but it looked very fancy. Decided to sit outside because it was nice out. Really nice patio seating.

Q - The beer was OK. Not bad but nothing breathtaking either. All the beers had a similar taste.

S - It wasn't busy when I was there. Waiter was quick with drinks.

S - They had 3 or 4 beers when I went there. A Wheat, Amber, and a Stout for sure.

F - food was expensive so I didn't get anything

V - It's in Calistoga so I wouldn't expect anything cheap.

This isn't a typical brewpub. Its higher end in the atmosphere, and food dept. but disappointingly average beer-wise.

I liked one of their beers so much that I had to bring a growler home. The barman was not only friendly but knew his beer, and was so excited to hear that I lived near a brewery in SF that made a IPA that was one of his favorites.
I came here with my sister and a bunch of other gals to grab lunch after a long bachelorette weekend, and the staff were accommodating, allowing us to pretty much take-over the tables on the bar side. I'm not sure what everyone is complaining about. Perhaps they didn't get enough loving on their romantic calistoga getaways?

My wife and I only stopped in for a beer during a busy Memorial Day weekend lunch. We waited around in a line to get a table for five or so minutes and no one ever acknowledged that we were there. The indoor restaurant and bar were closed, therefore they were only seating on the outdoor patio. We figured out on our own that there was a small bar (4 seats) around the corner from the waiter station. Only one bartender was busily attempting to make drinks for all of the wait staff and those of us trying to order drinks on our own. After a long wait we were finally poured our beers. We ordered the Pilsner and the Hefeweizen and unfortunately it was not worth the wait. Surprisingly, both beers had very similar, uninteresting tastes. There is, for lack of a better word, a beer garden behind the patio that has a few tables and chairs and horse shoes. It was a beautiful day and if the beer was any better I would go back. However, it wasn't so I won't. If you're in Calistoga and want some good beer go a few blocks up to Hydro Grill.

I nice Bed and Breakfast type of Inn with a dining area, crowded bar area, and an area for darts. Seemed to be a hot spot although the bartender was trying to shut down at 11pm, people kept coming in. Has TV's above the bar and a brewing room.

All stainless steel tap nozzles and could not see the kitchen. The restroom said men but it was evidently unisex more than once, however was clean. Wood bar, bar cabinet, tables and chairs gave the place some character.

Service was alright but seemed to be adamant about closing up around 11pm (must have had a hot date or something).

All the beers had a similar taste, no cask or guest beers. I believe it was a full bar.

Did not eat here.

Deep in the heart of wine country, the Calistoga is first and foremost an inn and restaurant with a tiny brewing system thrown in for good measure. The restaurant, which takes up the first floor of the inn also has an elaborate outdoor deck overlooking some sort of creek.
I'll skip the ordinary, but expensive food, and stick with the beer.
Three regulars on tap: Amber, Pilsner, and Wheat. Bartender said they don't do too many seasonals, so this is pretty much it. All three were average, nothing less, nothing more.
Overall, there is no chance I would ever go back here, but if you're in the area and being bombarded by wine, it's a nice change of pace.
