Nothing special. Label on bottle almost has a retro look - kinda ugly. Cloudy and foam was gone right away - slight lacing left on glass. Bit of a grassy smell. Hoppy taste with mild carbonation....not bad - fairly smooth and would be a decent session beer.

12oz single from Brennan's, bottled in the 3rd week of august apparently

appearance: a hazy apricot-amber, mysterious cloudy body, a mild foamy beige head tops it off, bubbly lacing throughout

smell: pretty faint aromas, lightly sweetened caramel malt, some grapefruity hop aroma, mildy floral bouquet

taste: rather enjoyable, super fruity...passion fruit, sour grapefruit, slight lemon zest....slightly chalky, floral american amber like flavours...nice flavours, not very juicy though...hops are dry and subdued

mouthfeel: medium body, chalky, smooth

drinkability: pretty good session, a nice little apa

Pint glass, half finger of head. Cloudy, copper colored body.
Smell is malty, wet grain in a barnyard. Not great.
Taste is sour with mild bitterness. It's a bit disjointed.
Smooth texture, moderate carbonation and medium body.
Not too impressed with this. Not horrible, but missing the mark.

Went by the brewery today for a swift pint & didn't find anything big that struck my fancy, so I gave this a shot, I don't remember this tasting this good before, but this my 1st review for this so it gets a break

Poured amber/red with a 1.5: white head. Head retention was average and lacing was good

Smell: Huge "in your face" piney and floral hop aroma, blew me away. Some malt fruittyness snuck through

Taste: Big piney and citrussy hops folowed by fat maltiness and fruittyness. Finished hoppy and quenching (fruitty)

MF: Perfect balance and good carbonation, maybe slightly
overdone

I could drink this in draft form all day. Will have to try again to see how it fares. I find this to be a good not great beer in the bottle. But still worth a try in that form as well

follow up 5 may 2007, purchased a keg for a party & stand by my original raiting!

Presentation: Poured from a 12oz brown bottle into a standard pint glass. Label depicts a beer holding man ridign a rocket around the world. Freshness date indicates this was brewed in mid-March.

Appearance: Pours with 1/2 inch of light tan head. This settles into a few islands of foam and some lacing. The beer itself is orange/amber and has a slight chill haze.

Smell: Very strong aroma of pine, amazingly strong and fresh. Slight hint of malt backbone.

Taste: Smooth malt upfront, followed by spicy and bitter hops. Not as strong as I would have expected from the amazing aroma. Nice and long, lingering finish.

Mouthfeel: Average carbonation level. Body is good.

Drinkability: Wow, this beer looks good, smells freat, and tastes pretty good. My secodn beer form Bristol and I am looking forward to my third.

Amber colored pale ale with a hoppy and fruity aroma. Solid body and mouthfeel with a good balance between the malt and spicy hops. A bit of fruitiness comes out as the beer warms up. The finish is too short and too sweet. A drinkable ale that starts out strong and ends a bit weak.

A- Pours a clear amber with a thick finger of white head

S- Good hop nose with citrus and juniper notes

T- Citrus hop to begin, light bitterness throughout, crisp golden malt to balance, slightly bitter aftertaste

M- On the light side of medium body, moderate carbonation

O- Well balanced and refreshing, could definitely be sessionable, solid pale ale that I'll be getting some more of for sure

A&S: White fluffy head that pours about a half a finger and retains as specks on top. Leaves tiny bits of lacing. Beer is a semi-lively full orange color. The aroma consists of sparse citrus hops and a heavy malt component, and some mild sweetness.

T&M: Little too malty. Lacking in the hop department. A little heavy on the palate due to its high malt content. Pretty bland. On the light side of medium body, on the low side of medium carbonation.

Overall: Not super drinkable. It wasn't like this beer is awful, I just wouldn't seek it out again and wouldn't recommend for the style (much better options out there).

12 oz bottle with bottled on notches showing it being brewed in late Dec. 2009. Pours a medium copper color with a pretty significant amount of haze. Head is fairly small and large-bubbled. Not much in the way of retention or lacing.

The nose on this beer is pretty nice. Caramel, toffee maltiness and piney, grassy hops are both very noticeable. Smells very much like a freshly opened bag of cascade hop pellets. Fresh and clean.

Piney hops are in the forefront on the tastebuds with a fairly lifeless malt background. Low carbonation does not help and in fact tastes a bit better straight out of the bottle. It has a watery mouthfeel despite some caramel and toasty malt in evidence. Hops do carry nicely from the front of the beer all the way to a moderately bitter finish. This APA is ok, but all the components do not seem to come together just right for me and the low carbonation is kind of a bummer. In all fairness though, I remember having it on tap at the brewery and enjoying it much more.

First had: on tap at their brewpub / tasting room

Poured a slightly hazy amber with a small white head. Simple enough aroma; sweet malts and a decent crisp hoppiness. A solid sweet malt backbone in the taste, with a good balance of floral hops, citrusy, organic. Mild and drinkable, with a light-medium body. Not bad.

12oz bottle.

Poured a deeper and cloudy amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Lots of small floaters. Aromas of some floralness, light caramel, and cookie dough. Tastes of cookie dough, caramel, oranges and some citrus.

pulled from a tap into an imperial pint

a: light amber hue. pours a frothy, off-white head. craters slowly leaving a persistent beer ring. substantial lacing.

s: malt, lots o' hops, basil, clove, and a little citrus.

t: Italian bread, sharp hops, and just a touch of Italian spice and maybe even a smaller touch of some indistinct sweetness.

m: light body, and a little shallow. a bitter pungency lingers throughout.

d: bitter finish dictates this is more of a sipping. variety.

atmosphere is solid. great color, nice frothy head, and plenty o' lacing. nose has a lot going on with some grains, Italian spice, and citrus. flavor is bitter and hoppy with those same spices prominently featured. overall, this is a really nice quaff.

Appearance: Half opaque light copper, generous head that lasts with some lacing.

Smell: Fruity, sweet, slightly hoppy. A pleasing smell.

Taste: Sweet hits the tongue first, followed by mild hops, slight fruit and caramel, fading into a light hoppy aftertaste. Almost no malts.

Mouthfeel: Fairly thin, light body.

Drinkability: Good for a pale ale. Very refreshing, not heavy or heady.

This particular bottle was much fruitier and sweet than I remember, a much lighter beer than I expected. If you love lots of strong hops, this isn't going to be your favorite pale ale. If you like the extra sweetness, you will like this beer.

A light amber colored beer; clear. The head is slightly off white that leaves a sticky lace.

The aroma is more malt than hop. Interestingly, this beer was served ice cold. Flavor wise, it starts with a touch of malt than quickly bursts into a strong raw, green hop bite. This surprised me considering the smell. Medium body, high carbonation with a long dry hop aftertaste.

Decent flavoring but the aroma knocks this one down a few levels.
