A - Very dark, almost pitch black in color. Soapy, light tan head becomes a thin collar for the rest of the drink. Thick rings of lace stick to the glass.
S - Rich, toasted malts. Some sweet chocolate. A small sense of vanilla, with some caramel/toffee.
T/M - Roasted maltiness and bittersweet chocolate. Some coffee flavors come through as well. Slightly bitter aftertaste. Medium-bodied with a great creamy texture.
O - Always tends to be a good fit for a cool Colorado evening. After almost finishing a bottle, you realize it drinks heavier than you thought, leaving you quite full. I think "consistent" is a good description for Bristol. Not necessarily a bad thing for a brewery that hasn't dove headfirst into barrels and trends.
