I had this beer on nitro at the Falling Rock Tap House in Denver. I can't comment on the bottled version but the tap/nitro version is the best stout I've ever had. I live in west Michigan and we have some really good stouts; Founders KBS &CBS, Bells Expedition Stout, but this was fantastic. Great balance of malt and hops, creamy nitro head, absolutely the best.

Extremely good.

Pours a deep almost black opaque beer with a tan head.

Rich toasty aroma.

Flavor is very toasty with lots of coffee, dark chocolate, and a little bit of hops.

It reminds me of a smoother, creamier version of McMenamin's Terminator.

Dark nearly black in color, with a thin brown head. Smells of roasted malt and oats. Bold flavor of a european stout with chocolate undertones. Smooth feel in the mouth and excellent drinkability, especially while enjoying a cold snowing day. I wish I could buy it outside of CO.

Pitch black with a nice full creamy brown head, good carbonation and leaves sheets of lace. Strong dark chocolate and roasted malt aroma and tastewith fusel alcohol more noticeable in the mouth than on the nose. Medium-full bodied (leans medium) and a bit oily with a strong dry roasty bitter finish.

Very nice winter warmer ! Wish I could get it here !

Poured from bottle to Pint glass.

A - Pours pure black with 2 solid fingers of head and a ton of lacing.

S - Coffee with chocolate and other roasted malts present. Quite pleasing.

T - Malty deliciousness upfront! Coffee and Chocolate roasted malts are really impressive. The bitterness of the hops follows to provide a nice compliment to the malts.

M - I think the oats allow for a very delightful medium to full body. Carbonation seems spot on.

D - Extremely easy drinking beer.

Overall I am a big fan of this beer. In the past I've had it on tap and Nitro tap which makes it even better, however I still look forward to putting some bottles of Warlock in the fridge each winter. It's a goot oatmeal stout and not so sweet as so many others out there, which is nice.

Dark, dark mahogany - pretty opaque. Pours with a thick, tannish head that lingers and fair lacing and rings down the glass.

The nose impresses with mocha, chocolate and roasted goodness; marshmallows and some-mores...

The taste is an awesome mix of bitter chocolate and soft bitterness.

The mouthfeel is rich, thick, and softly delicious - probably one of the smoothest tongue pleasers out there. Definitely memorable.

An extremely pleasing dark ale for the cold season. Rich and delectable, and perfect in a room with a fireplace ablaze and pro football playoffs on the large screen HDTV.

Poured from a 12oz bottle a near pitch black with a medium head of foam that shrunk quickly leaving just a fine layer. As an aside, there's a Month and Week indicator on the label but there's nothing notched.

The smell is a nice dose of roasted malt and grain.

The taste is kind of sweet malty up front but that is quickly overtaken by some good roasty malt and grain. I also taste some chocolate and coffee notes midway through whilst the finish returns to the sweet malt side that I noted in the initial taste. This is a nicely done Oatmeal Stout that I'd love to get more of. :^)

I can't believe I passed this up for so long because it is good. Standard stout appearance, brown at the edges and black through the middle. You really have to let this one warm up because when its cold its sort of chalky but once it warms it gets nice. Aroma is sweet, sticky, nice. Flavor is a hint of sticky black sweetness, oats make it round and its just plain good. I'll be buying a bunch more and I might even say this is better than Firestone Walker's velvet merlin which was my favorite oatmeal stout up to this point.

yeah man oh man. this is an all time oatmeal stout. huge malt profile with milk chocolate, oat, and cappucino nose, with the most pleasant burnt sugar taste balanced with a bit of bittering hops. mouthfeel kicks ass, creamy milkshakey, slushy aged balsamic finish. carbonation at a mild level, this is bristols best beer i think, hell yeah

On tap at the Rackhouse last night, where 18 of the 20 available beers were available locally in bottles down the street, and the other 2 were readily available locals. The only interesting beer was of course no longer available. So I had this one. And I really enjoyed it. Beautiful deep dark brown color, with a small cappuccino head. Aromas of bittersweet chocolate chips, licorice and roasted malt. On the palate, full bodied and creamy, with more roasted malt, chocolate chips and a hint of earthy hops. Gonna have to grab a six pack of this one soon.

Served from a 12oz bottle into a Grey Sail pint.

Appearance- What an oatmeal stout should look like. Very black with a one finger caramel head that slowly dissipated. Nice lacing.

Smell-Roasty/chocolaty malts. Bitter coffee. Light hops. Toasty and roasty, very nice.

Taste- Dark bitter chocolate. Heavily roasted malts. Light booze. Finishes with coffee bitterness and mild warmth in the back of the throat.

Mouthfeel- Light carbonation. Smooth. Not sticky, but full bodied.

Overall- This is a nice oatmeal stout. I bet it's great out of the tap!

Last bottle from a six pack I picked up in December from Arctic Liquors in Steamboat, CO. Around $8.

A: Deep rich brown in color, with a tan head that disappears just about as fast as it got there, an island of bubbles in the glass, with just a few bubbles clinging to the edges. Not bad, a little retention would be nice though.

S: Milk chocolate, roasted coffee, burnt malts, kahlua, some brown sugar. The balance between the dark roasted coffee and milk chocolate really dominate the nose. Very nice smelling beer.

T: The roasted character of this beer really shines out as a great feature, coffee, a little more mellow on the chocolate end of it than the nose leads on, brown sugar, and a fairly nice bitter earthy/citrus hop profile right at the end. Nice lingering bitterness. Very impressive.

M: Nice thick creamy body with just enough carbonation. Excellent here.

D: Well, out of the many winter seasonals I've tried in the last two months, I'll have to say this is my favorite for the season. I find myself reaching for this pretty often. Hopefully I can snag another six pack to get me through the rest of these cold winter nights in Utah. Great work. Highly recommended.
