A- Bomber, pours a cloudy straw color with a thin but stable white head, quite a bit of fine sediment

S- Strong banana, cinnamon, nutmeg, coriander and lemon citrus, light yeast

T- Yeast and lemon citrus dominate the beginning, banana tones build in the middle then transitions to a light wheat breadiness, finish continues the breadiness and adds a needed light bitterness that lingers

M- Moderate carbonation, light body, crisp feel, very slight warming, very nice for a summer beer

O- Well executed wit, the individual flavors each have some pop but still blend well for a coherent brew, the aroma and look are really inviting and complement the flavor and feel well, very high on the list of wits I've had and in the top couple of beers from Bristol overall

22 oz bottle. Pours slightly hazy yellow with a smallish white head that quickly goes to a thin film and leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is sweet wheaty malts, lemon and perfumey spices.

The flavor is sweet wheaty malts with some citric lemon and musty yeast. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.

Overall, an OK wit.

22 oz bomber from the 2012 release. Poured into a goblet.

Pours very light yellow with a creamy white head and a cloudy complexion. This beer is very light in color, quite surprising.

The nose is classic, with dry dusty banana and coriander notes. Not as floral as a hefe. Dry and well balanced, with a bit of cracked wheat and clove.

The flavor is quite nice. Wheat malt and yeasty spices take center stage. Banana is less prominent, but clove, coriander and a touch of nutmeg and cinnamon show up. Bready. Overall the flavor is pretty dry but not as much as the nose indicated.

The mouthfeel is light and airy but not at all watery. This doesn't feel like a "light beer", but it isn't weighed down. If anything it could be even lighter and still be good. The carbonation is lower than I expect for the style which I actually prefer but I think most would want more bubbles.

Conclusion: This is always a classic summer style and Bristol pulls it off with a solid offering. I would certainly buy this again. This summer looks to be quite hot so I imagine I will be grabbing a few more of these!

Thanks to Ratman for sharing this one with me last Saturday afternoon. Poured a cloudy pale straw color with a little white head. Aromas of green apples, banana and bubblegum. On the palate, this one was light and refreshing, with flavors of apple, banana and light clove.

only 5 bucks a bomber this is a steal. pours hazy pale yellow with a one inch white head. smells like wheat malt, orange zest, and some background herbal character. flavor is good, very basic american wheat beer, some fruity yeast flavors up front melt into a nice lighter bodied wheat malt palate. good carbonation and very refreshing. overall a good summer beer, especially for the price. not incredibly distinctive, but well made and very sessionable.
