On-tap. Described as a Belgian golden ale partially fermented with brett.
Pours a clear golden color with a half-finger white head. The head recedes into a wispy layer on top leaving decent lacing.
Smells of light malts, green apples, pears, and leafy hops, in that order. Also present are mild amounts of indistinct spices.
Tastes very similar to how it smells. Moderately sweet light malt flavors kick things off and are joined quickly by somewhat dry pear flavors. Midway through the sip hints of leafy hops work their way into things as do solid amounts of green apple flavors. The malt and green apple flavors carry through to a crisp ending.
Mouthfeel is good. It's got a nice thickness with active carbonation.
Drinkability is OK. I finished my glass without a problem however I'm not sure about another.
Overall I wasn't a big fan of this beer - the flavor profile seemed muddled and the green apple flavors were off-putting. Perhaps more brett influence would have cleaned things up a bit. Not worth avoiding but it's not a beer I'd have again, something rare from this brewpub.
