Sat at the bar for a quick brew. They had several of their own brews but were out of a couple as well. Luckily, they also had a few guest beers because that was the better choice.

Didn't have any pub grub but from what I could see, it seemed typical for bar eats.

The bartender was very friendly and attentive. She allowed me several tastes before I settled on my choice. The visit was okay but was way over-shadowed the next day by the Distillery bar experience I enjoyed.

There are lots of place to try in Sav. Give it a try but move on quickly.

Gene and Pink always have the best beer and best food on Bay Street. My favorite place to go in all of Savannah!

Generally uses the supposed novelty of being a brewpub to draw in tourists because the beer and food are average. Had the pale ale, which was fairly flavorless and lacked body. The porter is better. If you are looking for good beer, I'd recommend going elsewhere.

Great location within walking distance of the riverfront. Tried the Captain's Porter and the Slovannah Pale Ale, along with a burger and onion rings, all very good. Noted with amusement some of the "tourists" who came in, bought pints, and left after barely tasting them-BMC drinkers apparently. The seasonal Tater Ale (sweet potato as opposed to the ubiquitous pumpkin ales prevalent this time of year) was a perfect finish to lunch.

Good brew pub. Been there several times. Service isn't as genuinely friendly as most pubs. Decent selection of craft brews. Food was good.
I had a burger, my wife had shrimp creole which was good but way too spicey. All in all it is worth the price.

Great locations right across from the river. Awesome people took loved the feel of the joint. But that's where it ends. Had the 10 beer sampler flight. 4oz each for $18. Pretty decent deal . But the beer was simply meh. Had a gem or two in the bunch. Boo hag, the wee heavy. Rest. Awful. Food. Honestly wish I would have grabbed something somewhere else. Had the tacodilla. Barely any meat. But the sauce was good. Wife had fried chicken wrap. Checked was alright. With a craft scene exploding in savanna ga. There's plenty of other places to go. Sorry. I really wanted to like it too.

Not a fan. This place is definitely a bit too touristy. I don't like to comment negatively, however, the staff was hugely uneducated, I was blatantly ignored a few times. I noticed it was not terribly busy, as the 4 bartenders (blonde male, brunette male, and two brunette females), were focused on pouring the hard liquors for the... what seemed as regulars... rather than answering a simple question I had asked. The flight I got was obviously out of order/not what I was told. Not to mention the beers were decently priced for what was mediocre at best beer. Not recommended.

I was travelling to FL for a sort of vacation and we stayed in Pooler, GA for the night on our way there. So, this was the only place still open and nearby that I could go to. It was night and an hour before closing on a Sunday, so YMMV.

A: It looks quite nice and seems to be a quite large place with multiple sections. It actually has a weird layout and is a bit confusing, but it is very nice-looking since it is made out of an old hotel from 1821. Apparently, the place is haunted and they offer tours. I would say it has nice mood lighting and an interesting layout.

Q: The menus were very nice and there was a separate one for their beer. Greeted quickly and sat down right at the bar. Everything is brewed on premise, so it has to be fresh (right?).

S: Quick and accommodating. I just got a glass of water and a flight of their beers on a late Sunday night though.

S: I can't recall if they had guest beers but they had six of their own beers on tap, so not a huge selection. They had four pale ale variations, an IPA and a Sweet Stout, so not much variety in style either.

F: Didn't have any food but they had some that looked quite good.

V: I got a six beer flight sampler for $8, which I believe is quite cheap.

O: The place was nice and it was cool to at least see the outskirts of Savannah, but I found their beers to be quite mediocre. The IPA was not very flavorful and quite watery, and the stout was similar and didn't have any strong malt flavor to it. The pale ales were worse, but I'm not big into that style.

Went here while in Savannah for 6 pm toasts. The experience was awesome. The brewer was willing to talk to all and gave his toast (funniest part being the news that the hole where the beer garden is going now has posts!). Beer quality is very good and service is wonderful. They have a full line of beers ready for your enjoyment. The food is your typical fair but is still good. Overall, this has to be your go to spot in Savannah to get your first beer and your to-go beer.

I go to Moon River mostly because I love their Rosemary IPA. The other beers I have tried are good, nothing memorable, and their service and food is fair (for the price). The staff does not seem too knowledgeable or engaging when it comes to the beers, and even on slow days the service is lacking. A cool place to have a drink, especially at night. Have not done the haunted pub crawl, but this would certainly be a good place to do it in. For food, there are certainly better places in Savannah, but Moon River Brewing should be on your radar for some interesting beers and the haunted atmosphere. That is what you are in Savannah for, is it not?

Moon River Brewing Company brews their own beer on site, and while the beer selection is rather large, the food left a little something to be desired.

Located in Savannah, with plenty of competition, Moon River does not do enough to differentiate itself. The atmosphere is rather bland, not offering anything to exciting. It certainly felt like a tourist trap to me.

I enjoyed their beers, but in a city like Savannah, where you can get your beer to go, I recommend grabbing a plastic cup, and checking out the rest of the city.

My wife and I visited this place while we staying on Hilton Head island and took a day trip into Savannah. This was definitely a good find when compared to the Hilton Head's Brewery.

I tried their beer flight which was made up of 7 4oz glasses and did not cover their whole selection, american ales, wheat, IPA's, stouts, you name it they probably have it. The food was excellent and so was the service. The brewery is in a convenient location off a main street in downtown Savannah. The brewery also offers to-go glasses for those on the run!

What a great find! We walked to Moon River after enjoying a stroll through Savannah's River Walk. The town was busy with SCAD graduation but Moon River was rather empty on a Friday night, which worked fine for us.

We sat by the brewing equipment and even saw the brewer playing, letting his daughter carry lab samples, so cute. Very relaxed atmosphere, great for a pint or five.

Eight house beers on tap, with a bit of everything: Belly-washer golden ale, Wild Wacky wit, Apparition ale, Dixie Kristal trippel, Slo-vannah APA, Swamp Fox IPA, Captain's Porter Stout... and the absolute star: Dixie Merveille!!! This is a blend of fresh Dixie Kristal trippel with vintage Kristal from September '08 aged in Cabernet barrels ever since. Outstanding.

We didn't have any food at Moon River so can't comment on that, but service was nice and friendly and the experience a very positive one. Pints are five dollars and the Dixie Merveille was $10, which is a lil' much but absolutely worth the splurge. I even thanked the brewer for such a masterpiece.

Nice location in the downtown, nightlife are of historic Savannah. The service was very good, friendly and attentive. I did not try the food. The selection was broad with many beers on two coverIng many genres including rare releases and flights. The beer quality was as good as expected for a microbrewery with a few surprisingly good finds. The ambience of the facility was balanced wIth many age groups noted with a small but quaint bar. Definitely one if the two or so must try places in the savannah area for beer lovers. Everything on the beer menu was appropriately priced.

A very cool place right on the river walk in Savannah. You can even do reservations online which helps in prepping.
Food was interesting and not bad. Some was local but not sure about organic or sustainable foods.

Beers are very well done here and is one of the main reasons to not only visit Moon River Brewing, but Savannah. Later in the evenings Ghost Tours begin at this location. Their seasonals are always interesting and well done and provide a glimpse of the culture of Savannah and the history. The regular ipa, pa, stouts, etc, are always well done. Definitely worth checking out.

The DW and I visited moon river last Tuesday night just prior to the a hanuted pub crawl. The decor in Moon River is average. Trendy little dining area with hardwood floors and tables and neo-trend lights. The square bar area is small with a limited number of taps. They have a few guest beers but they are short on selection if you're not into their house craft beers. The most unique beer of the night was their Rosemary IPA (which I could detect nary a hint of Rosemary in it).

The coolest part of the bar is the basement which is only used for overflow and private parties and the unfinished upstairs. It's brick and has a small bar of it's own, and we visited it as part of the ghost tour. The upstairs levels are unfinished and we were allowed to explore the second level a little bit. They do store their brewing supplies (pallets of malted barley, etc) and corny kegs on this level, but for the most part, it's unfurnished.

Our table in the dining room abutted the brew area and I was actually a little grossed out by the lack of cleanliness around the mash tuns and the conicals. Spotless inside (as it should be) but there was no lack of wort spillage and mulm buildup on the outside of the vessils. As a brewer myself, I know the most important aspect of any brewing is cleanliness, and if I were their head brewer, i'd scrub the place floor to ceiling and then spray everything down in idophor.

Weekend trip to Savannah for their inaugural RockNRoll Marathon. The whole town was crazy busy from all the people in town for the race. Place was slammed but we walked in and immediately got a table for 4. Ordered their Swamp Fox IPA to start. With dinner I got their sample flight with 7 or 8 samples for only $9. All of them were pretty tasty with the highlight being their sweet potato beer. Best of all their nachos are extraordinary. I would def. recommend stopping by if you are in the downtown area and want some better beer than the macro stuff at other bars.

Along the Bay street, not as touristy as River street at least. Still this is the macro social area of the city.
Woody interior, haunted historic building, which they pretty much all are in Savannah. Bar right up front with the brewing area to the right. More resaurant seating to the left and behind the bar. Sat at the bar did not eat. Kind of interesting the "to go" drafts in plastic cups. No open container laws in the historic district from what I could tell. Helped keep the semi-chaos around the bar and helped keep the service down a bit. Still bartenders were knowledgeable enough about the brews. 8 house brews, 2 rotating 6 regular and 2 guest. Two I tried were plenty good enough.
The Distillery was more impressive, but this is the only brewpub in town.

Came here our first night in Savannah

Nice place inside took a while to get seated, I liked the wooden floor(just sayin), the bar area was nice and I like that you can see all the brewing equipment. The bartender was knowledgeable about all the beers and they let me take home a couple of coaster which was nice.

Service was a little slow but adequate, the selection was alright, would have been nice to see an extra guest tap or two but hey it's their brewery so it's not that huge a deal. The quality of the brews I had from them was on point.

Food was pretty awesome from the crab cakes to the creole I was very happy with what I got. The menu is really nice as well it's got some safe bets as well as a few things for a more adventurous eater, plus they had a whole vegetarian section for my sister to pick from so that was really nice

Went to Moon River on a Saturday night. It was loud and crowded, but my boyfriend and I snagged a table with no problem. However, no one came to serve us, so we moved to the bar where we promptly got our beers. I had something called Six Degrees, which I think is a mild ale. It was OK. Overall, that's what I thought of Moon River: just OK. There was nothing particularly wrong or bad with the place, but nothing about the experience was amazing. The prices for beer were reasonable. Didn't try the food.

Wandering about the city, we determined we'd better find this place. Asked some people and they directed us to the establishment. Five or six of their own beers on tap, 3 other Georgia brewery beers. I like when breweries rep other local breweries. A cool respect thing. They had an english pale, a blond thing, ipa (pretty good), rosemary ipa (pretty interesting), and some other thing. They were out of the porter. Sad. Anyway, some were pretty good, some were mediocre. Bartender was cool. We came back later to eat and our waittress was totally checked out. Some of the worst, most careless service I've ever seen. Food was aight but they were out of a bunch of stuff.
All in all, not bad. Our second visit definitely brought down the score a bit.

Went here once with some friends after a movie looking to try some local brews. Can be relatively crowded since it's a pretty common tourist destination, but seats are usually available. They have a typical brewpub ale list of about 10. From what I had....nothing is very good.

Pretty standard pub food. I believed I had some chicken tenders or something else basic. Forgettable food, really.

To the people who mentioned the smoke, they passed a law so you can't smoke indoors anymore, but that doesn't change the fact that this place just....isn't....good.

Went there on a Monday night. It was pretty full and very loud. I sat at the bar since there were a couple of TV's. Bar is good sized, u-shaped. Place is pretty large with lots of wood/brick and a glass enclosed view of the beer tanks on the left side when you walk in. Tables are off to the right. Good location.

Service was OK. Took a while to get an order, but the lone bartender was doing a lot of multi-tasking. Friendly guy.

Crowd seemed sort of young, but plenty of tourists and enough age variety that everyone can feel comfortable.

Not a large selection of beer, but brewpubs have their own stuff so that shouldn't be expected. On the night I went, their lineup was: Nicks balls of gold, resmary ipa, apparition ale, the captain's porter, houblin wit, Ape-stout, slo-vanah pale ale, wild wack wit, swamp fox ipa and a pumpkin beer I never got the name of. Certainly a good enough seletion for my tastes.

One note: people can smoke in the bar, so if you are not used to this you are hereby forwarned.

Overall, a decent experience. My main issue was the very loud noise level, which made talking with others very challenging.

Center bar area with seating for 12 or so. Mix of booths and small tables with some outdoor seating. Brewery equipment prominently displayed.

6 house beers on tap. Out of their only dark. 2 Pales and an ipa keep me happy. Cask available on Wednesday. Several GA guest taps, too.

Standard bar menu. Good apps and sandwiches. Not terribly adventurous but very reasonable.

Service was prompt and attentive.

A place I will come back to. Just wish they could do something about the smoke. I'm not used to that.
