I am often in Tulsa for business. I used to go to McNeelies, but the crowd was a little too loud and too 'yuppie' for me. I have started visiting Kilkenny's and I am very impressed with the atmosphere and food. The drink selection isn't great, but they still have a few good beers. I usually have the Franziskaner Hefe-Weizen. The service is good and friendly.

The wife and I are checking our e-mails courtesy the free wi-fi at Cherry Street Coffee House and, while writing some beer reviews, I see a listing for Kilkenny's Tulsa here on BA. Shit, that place is right across the Coffee House, let's check it out!
I've been to Kilkenny's at least once before, during our last family reunion in Tulsa, and never thought much of it. Just another faux Irish pub...
I do like the building and atmosphere, a vast meandering joint with nooks and crannies everywhere, a busy bar and lively dining are upfront plus cozy quiet tables and more dining on the back.
Lots of wood, Irish music, trinkets galore. You know it.
Beer selection is rather poor. The menu, reminiscent of a chain restaurant, does not list the only two or three good bottled beers I spotted (Moose Drool, Hop Czar) and the only good draft (Marshall IPA). Good selection of Germans (Spaten, Franziskaner) and one more good draught: Boulevard Wheat, but other than that, both the tap and bottle menus read like your average Bud-Miller-Heineken crap.
Service is alright good but not great. I was annoyed that my bottle of Hop Czar came already poured, the glass missing.
Prices are OK, but perhaps slightly higher than your average Tulsa bar (20-oz pint for $5.75, a little less for a bottle, $8 for a shot of fine Macallan scotch).
I may come back here if we happen to be cruising Cherry Street, but otherwise, fuhgeddaboudit. Next time I will try newer spots like White Owl and Smoke on Cherry that seem to have good beers on tap.

Walked in for a couple of beers. The atmosphere was nice but a little over-the-top for my tastes. But it was fairly quiet and didn't have a lot of TV's distracting me.
The staff was great, very friendly. It was rather busy when I was there, but they did well making sure I was taken care of.
My only real complaint was the fact it was a bit pricey. Two beers ran about $12.00.
Decent selection of beers. Mostly what you would expect from an Irish bar, Guiness, Smithwicks and Bass were all there along with some local selections.
I would probably go back again if I find myself in the Tulsa area again.

We hit this place as family yesterday on a very hot April day. Coming in here was like getting transported to a cool damp British Isle oasis! This place drips great pub atmosphere, minimal TV intrusion.
Beer & cider quality were pretty decent
Service was friendly & prompt
Selection was pretty good for an Irish Pub= Sticking to nothing too exotic, only about 12 taps by my count
Menu looks fairly impressive & a touch pricey
Two pints & 2 sodas for the kids for $11.50
Not a place I would seek out, but would happily sup a pint here any time

Don't go to this place expecting an awesome selection of beer. What you can expect is great Irish food.
I've heard alot of people grip about the interior being "Disney or Touristy", but they actually spent alot of money bringing this over from and old bar in Ireland. It may seem "fake" but it's the real deal.
Beer - The selection is not that great. They have the "usual" selection. They do carry local brews as well as several craft brews to make you happy.
Food - All of the boxtys are awesome. I haven't had the fish n chips so I can't tell about that. I would recommend a boxty. They have several varieties to suit your tastes. This is not your typical bar food. It's a restaurant first, watering hole second.
They also have Crown Royal on Cold Tap if that's your thing.

I fully expected this place to be the same pseudo Irish pub that can be found all over Houston. I was wrong. This has a great Irish pub feel. An old wood bar and tables scattered about. Some nooks and crannies that you can sit in. Celtic and Irish music is playing very low. You can see some of the old cathedral looking churches outside the window. That adds to the Irish/English authenticity.
On to the beer. Not a huge selection, but well above average. Fuller's Porter and ESB. The Marshall IPA is on tap as well. Chimay and Sam Smith are the highlights of the bottle selection. Not the best, but I will be happy to sip on Marshall and Fuller's all day. The tap lines seemed a bit dirty though.
The service was great. A very enthusiastic bartender, with a great "cheers" after every beer. Very friendly and prompted. Pretty much as good as it gets. The food was top notch. I had the chicken cordon blue with spicy mustard (on the bartenders request). It was great. Far above the typical pub grub I find in similar places in Houston.
Overall, a great place to have a beer and a meal. It does not have the best selection, though that is a small grip. If in the area, check it out. Another great spot in my Tulsa beer sojourn.

I took my wife to eat here a few weekends ago while we were in Tulsa. Fairly easy to find. There Menu is huge. I had a cottage pie which was delicious. My wife had the Chicken Cordon Blue(sp?) which was very tasty also. I was not very impressed with there beer menu though. I ended up having a Fullers Porter and the waiter went in back and got me an Anchor Porter that wasn't on the menu I guess. The inside was pretty dark, it took my eyes a while to adjust. Overall it was great food, decent beer, decent service.

I've found Kilkenny's to be a very enjoyable experience. The environment is very comfortable and relaxed. The service is high quality.
The total beer selection does leave a little to be desired, but the options are good. The food is great.
Additionally, Kilkenny's is very friendly to the customer's needs. They've played host to a number of events I've been a part of, and always done a tremendous job. From parties full of guys in 16th century garb, complete with fencing, minstrels, and drunken games, to a traditional Celtic wedding, they've been perfect hosts.
Kilkenny's is lacking for the occasional food and beer critic, but great for the average joe looking for a nice dinner and a good brew.
