Enjoyed on tap at Sazerac Restaurant in Seattle.

A - Delivered with a half finger of of off-white head. Black with ruby highlights lacing is light.

S - Mildly smoky on the nose. Dark malty presence.

T - Average porter taste. Nothing too special, but definitely well balanced and easy going. Bitterness is low.

M - Carbonation is the little high for the style.

O - An average run of the mill porter. I like that it is smoky but not super bitter.

Appearance – Beautiful black body with bright red highlights and a gorgeous, overflowing tan head. This one was gorgeous to behold!

Smell – The big coffee aroma was spoiled by what smelled like sour fruits. I don’t get it.

Taste – The traditional Porter flavors never showed up at the taste. There was a light malt backbone and a whole bunch of sour fruits.

Mouthfeel – I thought this one was overly carbonated and way too thin. Maybe it was tapped wrong or something, but I was very disappointed.

Drinkability – Another failed NW attempt at the style.

Appearance is black as night. Completely opaque!
Head is a light brown.
Exciting to the nostrils. Tastes of licorice, roast nuts, and slight coffee.
Taste is very light for a porter. Very toasty though.
Has a light and smooth mouthfeel compared to most porters i have tried.
Drinkibility is among the highest of any porter ive ever had. Dont recall the ABV, but it couldnt have been to high.

Clean, crisp, goes down easy, but not a lot of taste. Best served ice cold.

Appearance: dark brown, almost black in color with a 1/2" light tan colored head. A few spots of lace form on the glass.

Smell: roasted malt and bitter chocolate are soft but can be detected.

Taste: roasted malts are most dominant with some softer bitter chocolates and a hint of prune sweetness. Overall hop bitterness is very mild and this leans towards a sweeter porter.

Mouthfeel: smooth from start to finish. Very brief aftertaste as the malt sweetness lingers on the tongue for a few seconds. Medium bodied beer.

Drinkability: easy to quaff, but this one grows a bit tiring after two pints.

Good black color with light brown head. Burnt and chocolate character pretty apparent. Just sweet enough to give you the flavor, but does not detract from the traditional porter character. Mouthfeel is real nice. Overall a very nice beer.

On tap at the airport African room tap house.

The beer pours a blackish brown color with OK head retention and lacing. The beer is fairly nice on the nose, with aromas of coffee, licorise and sweet roasted malt. The flavors generally replicate the nose, with some sweet roaty malt initially, but with a drying finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodieds and drinkability isn't bad at all. Would guess the abv. to be in the 6% range... maybe a bit less then that.

Nothing special, but for Mack and Jack, this is one of their better offerings. Unlike their entirely mediocre IPA and amber, I could probably drink a pint or two of this.

pours a jet black with an off-white head, and great lacing.

smell of cocoa, some coffee, and a touch of vanilla.

taste is creamy, bakers chocolate, sour malt, and some coffee, ends dry and slightly bitter.

overall a very nice porter with a wonderful finish.

Had this beer on-tap at the Africa Lounge in Sea-Tac airport.

Appearance: dark brown, almost black, and quite murky. Head is thin but creamy and has a pretty good retention.

Smell: very nice coffee aroma, albeit a bit mild. I'd like a little more volume here.

Taste: great coffee and chocolate mixture. The beer has a low level of bitterness and is quite earthy and yummy. I rather like it.

Mouthfeel: while this beer does not seem to have a very high carbonation level, it manages to be exceedingly smooth and creamy nonetheless. I quite like it.

Drinkability: a very drinkable, super smooth porter. I only wish it were on tap at more places.
