Pours a nice hazy orange copper color nice white head on top. Smell is slightly hoppy floral very pleasant. Taste is slight hop bitterness very clean and easily drinkable. Leaves a nice sting of hops on the tongue after swallowing. Overall a very nice apa something I would easily buy again.

Picked this one up on close out at the local grocery store.

A - Pours a clear golden yellow, I guess you could call it Copper, with a cream-colored head.

S - Light malt, lemons and wheat.

T - Light lemons, malt, and more wheat.

D - Light body, good carbontation.

O - Light and citrusy - very sessionable and refreshing.

Presentation: 22 oz brown bomber, “unfiltered and unpasteurized, please refrigerate” on the label. No freshness date.

Appearance: Small bubbly off white lace stays for a while on top of the copperish orange brew. Clarity is decent though there are some noticeable particles suspended.

Smell: Faint esters, obvious citric hop that gives hints of grapefruit rind … pretty clean other than that.

Taste: Big crispness from a very well structured carbonation, mouth feel and beautifully textured medium body. Spicy citric hop bitterness with a long lasting flavour. Malt is of the pale selection, hints of lightly toasted malt and some sweetness come through. Fruitiness is vague from the yeast but focused in citric from the hops. Semi coarse hoppy finish with a slowly dry effect from the bitterness and grain.

Notes: A solid American Pale Ale, just what you would expect in this style and nothing out of the ordinary.

Appearance has a nice copper tone with a thick head that sticks around a bit leaving a steady lace. Smell of citrus, lightly sweet malt with a balanced hop aroma. Taste seems a bit watered down in the malt dept. that has the bite of the hops giving a floral citrus grapefruit on the palate. Mouthfeel is light - medium with good carbonation. A good APA, refreshing, but could be better.

From BeerAdvocate Magazine Volume II, Issue VI:

There is a reason for the name with its copper color showing clear and bright. Tightly-formed small-bubbled tan lace does a great job clinging to the glass. Fresh citric hop aroma smells of marmalade and faint mint with a toasted grain note in the rear. Smooth and semi-creamy medium body. Hop character doesn't waste any time flaunting its bitterness and flavor. A quick, sharp spike of bitterness to start slowly dulls and lets the flavor of the resin unfold to that of orange peel, birch sap, blond tobacco and a light earthy tone. Solid malt foundation drops both caramel and toasted grain on the palate with the toasted grain becoming dominant. Vague fruity yeast flavor in the semidry finish smacks of American Ale.

Lovely stuff here, a great snapshot of what modern sessionable American beer is about. Copperhead wins us over with an easy drinking, balanced flavor that showcases both the malt and hops.

Poured from 22oz bomber into a pint glass.

Appearance: nice pale-orange hue with just a touch of haze and a 2+ finger ivory head of stable compact foam. Looks quite good to me.

Smell: rich caramel malt aroma with a healthy dose of funky and citrusy hops on top. Hints of grapefruit and floral notes are also present. This is a pleasantly complex and non-overbearing aroma. I like it.

Taste: somewhat caramelly flavor and pretty solid bitterness, but hop flavor intensity and complexity are both lower than the aroma. Malt is sweet and hops are more floral than in the nose. Good, but I somehow feel it could be better.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a nice level of carbonation which yields a surprisingly thick creaminess; certainly quite creamy for the style. I like it.

Drinkability: unfortunately the sweet floral notes of the malt and hops accumulate on the palate in a not-entirely-pleasing manner. Still, it is a relatively light and refreshing yet flavorful brew. I would have this again.

Poured from 22 into 10oz glass. Pours a slightly coppery light gold color with about 3/4 of an inch of fluffy, just off-white head that had very good retention and moderate lacing.

The aroma was a nice, balanced blend of malt and hops, with neither dominating. On the tongue there a spicy hop tartness that didn't show up in the scent.

The body is slightly fuller than average for this style. Drinkability is very good. I'm not generally a fan of 22's, but this bottle slid down before I knew it.

Overall, a very good beer. Worth trying, this may become one of your everyday, go-to drinking beers.

22 oz. bottle bought in Tri-Cities area at grocery store on south end of town, poured into Piraat snifter.

White one finger head, quick dissipation, nice lacing. Deep gold color. Toasty malts on the nose. Good hop presence on tastebuds, a bit citrusy but fairly well balanced. Dry finish. Very sessionable, a nice interpretation of this popular style.
